This Russian-Georgian spy row is now getting really nasty. Now the few prominent Russian Citizens of ethnic Georgian Background--the writer Boris Akunin (real name Chkhatrishvili) and Zurab Cereteli are targeted by Russian Tax Authorities for suddenly found misdeeds right after Russian-Georgian conflict (sarcasm).

BTW, Ironically the books by Boris Akunin about the Russian tsarist era fictional spy-master Erast Fandorin are translated in English, and I saw it a few months ago at Borders Books and Music. They are widely popular in Russia and quite popular outside of Russia too.
I have no problem with Russia throwing out illegal immigrants and criminals, be they ethnic Georgians or not. But going after legal residents not involved in any crimes and Russian citizens of Georgian origin because of the conflict with the Republic of Georgia is nothing else but a clear cut ethnic persecution. This is really ugly and amoral and it's going way too far.
Ping
Old habits die hard.
BTW, below is the list of the Books by Boris Akunin (real name Grigory Chkhatrishvili) translated in English. Quite impressive list for the modern Russian Writer. Russian Authorities are really lost their wits persecuting their own citizens because of their ethnicity and it's nothing else but purely ethnic persecution.

On Tseretely, anyway... to get rid of him isn't a bad idea, especially if he takes with him his menacing monuments.
It's possible to find a bright side in any situation -:)))
Well, getting out of there with the clothes on my back and a suitcase of books was my best decision ever and the best thing that has ever happened to me. Since I do not consider myself radically better, smarter, or luckier, than others, I therefore fully expect that for them it would work out all right as well.
Please stop preying. It is frowned upon in polite society, if you know what I mean.
prey=pray. My to speak english very-very little
Right. Mala-mala... I should have written my reply as "Pray, stop preying..."
" Georgian officials at the airport handed each one a basket of grapes and two bottles of wine -- one white, one red -- before they climbed on board. They were also given red roses, the symbol of a 2003 "Rose Revolution," which propelled Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili to power. None of the Russians who spoke to Reuters said they were leaving because they feared staying in Georgia.
"It is a great pity that I am leaving as my husband lives here in Georgia but I have to go as there are no other flights," said a young Russian lady called Natalya. "I love Georgians and I am fond of Georgia and I just cannot figure out what is going on."
Georgians are a class act all the way.
Polish conspiracy alert!
LOL!
That must be it! :-)))
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1715402/posts. Sorts of sums up your "poor wild Russia". Not so poor, but certainly barbaric. So on that one now it is my turn to agree with you, at least to an extent.
