Budget Deficit Drops to $250 Billion

The federal budget estimate for the fiscal year just completed dropped to $250 billion, congressional estimators said Friday, as the economy continues to fuel impressive tax revenues.

The Congressional Budget Office's latest estimate is $10 billion below CBO predictions issued in August and well below a July White House prediction of $296 billion.

The improving deficit picture _ Bush predicted a $423 billion deficit in his February budget _ has been driven by better-than-expected tax receipts, especially from corporate profits, CBO said.

Daughter has an black friend who is no supporter of the President.

Her daughter was in a failing school and she now has the choice of putting her girl in a good school. She was praising the President for No Child Left Behind.

Nope. As the article say. It is the Reagan model ONCE again vindicated completely. MONEY spent by the Private Sector is vastly more efficient and productive then Demand side Government dictates spending. NOW if one time we could have a Reagan Model with a Congress that had even a HINT of control we might see just how high we can fly.

This is what is really obnoxious about the Fringer Political activists. The run around screaming their tin foil hat nonsense so loudly people automatically assume "Oh the Government is lying".

This is the real number. Same way when it was $520 billion it was the real number. ANY statistic can be manipulated one way or another. The 3rd Party types spin the numbers one way to inflate the number for their Chicken Little Hysteria. The way to measure it is the same standard applied year after year. NOT using ONE way of adding the numbers this year because you want the number to be smaller and add it a different way the next year so you can use it as a campaign slogan the way the 3rd Party Finger Talking Heads always do. Same standard, constantly applied. $250 bill. Thank you President Reagan for showing us the way.

History will judge xlinton for what he was........NOTHING. (actually, far worse than that).

President Bush will be judged as a leader who kept the economy going and eventually thriving under fierce attacks from without and within, all the while waging a war against an evil enemy, in spite of having an opposition party working against him in every possible way.

A lesser man would have folded long ago....
