that Macy's commercial was JUST the one that started my slow burn....
Now it is glowing white hot.........
next time just use the search function first, this topic was already posted. :) Although, I didn't mind seeing it again... :D
yeah, and I got to complain about the Macy's ad, so I feel better....
I mean, what are these companys thinking!
(well actually, they are 'thinking' that there are a lot of libs looking for a truck and a lot of latimos just panting to spend a lot at Macy's...)
John was alright 20 years ago, but he went through a lot of changes since then. I first met him when he came up to me in a store and started chatting with me and my girlfriend at the time while his wife was talking to a sales clerk. He was a decent guy back then. A couple of my old friends are in his music videos and I could have been as well, but it seemed too weird to actually get involved in that.
He seemed to take a hard left turn after he realized his fame was growing wider, but also growing a little thin since he struggled to make music with "serious messages" instead of music people actually enjoyed. So he jumped on the angry liberal bandwagon to keep the momentum going in his career. Hard to say what might have been, but at the time it was probably a calculated business decision and not an artistic one. I'm surprised he has been around this long and is still doing gigs, so maybe it was the right move for him.
"I'm aggravated at the current Burger King "full of sit" themed commercial featuring a bunch of people making a big deal out of annoyingly sitting down on weird white chairs . . or am I just dreaming (as in nightmare) this?"
Matches the "big bucking chicken" commercial.
I dont know, if he would have kept churning out "feel good" music he would have made LOTS of $, look how much Michael Jackson made, he was set and after those next couple of garbage albums it was like he died.
You may be right. Maybe he HAS to keep working.
As opposed to my 2004 Ford SuperCrew. Triton V8, gorgeous work and play truck... Pulls 8700 lbs (lost 300 with the 18" wheels), stongest frame in it's class, built in Kansas City, MO.. And it seats 6, not 5 like your little 3/8 ton truck
The adds are incredibly lame, Mellencamp's politics aside. The appeal seems to be "Buy GM 'cause we ain't no slanty eyed furners". Look, new car buyers tend to be upper income folks who just aren't gonna fall for that kind of crap.
I agree, the Chevy commercial utterly sucks.
For a quick antidote, view the new Ford Mustang commercial. Takes place on a loading dock in Hamburg as a new Shelby Cobra is being uncrated. The German dockworker says to the car owner, "You couldn't vind a Cherman car you like?" The car owner says, "No, I couldn't find an American speed limit I liked." Next frame: Shelby Cobra on the Autobahn.
Press one for English, will soon be press two for English.
I gotta ask, what the heck kind of name is 'Shelby' for a car? I've seen that commercial and everytime I see the car name I wonder what the manufacturer was thinking. Doesn't sound fast, manly, cool, or whatever it was supposed to be. In fact, sounds kinda wimpy.
Named for Carroll Shelby, the race car driver, who was also on the design team.
ping
But I LIKE 20mpg and my big comfy bucket seats.
And my back power window rolls up and down.
Not lookin for a fight, just enjoying my new truck.
Being self employed, didn't think they'd let us get one.
Oh, and that was 8600 lbs, dyslexia is a likker, ya know?
Good day !
I would rather fund the Krauts and keep my Dodge truck (so mush better than a Chevy anyway). Than buy any product this shill endorses.
