To Chevrolet Management I abhore your choice of music in your latest Chevrolet commercial. In my mind there is nothing at all patriotic about John Mellencamp. He is an anti-war activist, a vert poor choice to represent your product as well as a treasonous bastard. When I think about all our American serviceman now locked in conflict - I doubt many will want a Chevrolet when they return to civilian life. At least I hope they won't. I am about to trade mine in on a TOYOTA! Every time I see the commercial, I want to puke. Your message to me is very clear. General Motors wants everyone to know they do not support the war effort. Believe me I get the message. Why didn't you go ahead and hire the Dixie Chicks? They toured with Mellencamp last summer in his anti-war tour.

Yes please explain. Bob Seager and 'Like a Rock' served them well for a long time. My 92 K1500 is (at present) at 255K, so I'm still sold. I like Bob's music as well.
I like John Mellencamp's music, really never thought (or looked into) his politics. If I had a 79 camero I'd cruise the Dairy Queen and crank it up--crunch those old Jansen speakers 'bout Jack and Diane.

I liked Mellencamp's music when he was a rocker. But sometime in the 80's he published an album called "Blood on the Plow" and began to fancy himself a singing sociologist. He also denounced his early hits like "Jackie and Diane" and said he was ashamed of it. My girlfriend told me she was at a concert in Colorado and some biker threw a can of beer at Mellancamp, hit him in the head and knocked him cold. She thought that made him become goofy.

I have 100,000 miles on mine and it still rides like a Caddy and purrs like a kitten. The only problem I ever had was when the engine light came on. The gas cap didn't fit right. New gas cap, light went out. Hasn't been in the shop since.

Lighten up. Wait till they start using Springsteen and he sings about driving his Chevy over a Bush, LOL. They're both losers, actually all three of them are.
Sorry - thought this was America where I could make such a choice. I have owned Chevies all my life and feel they made a mistake here and was looking for support. I want the damned commercial off the air. Mellencamp is a traitor!
