Two years removed from the most difficult chapter of her life, Dina Matos McGreevey is watching it unfold all over again. On Tuesday, former Gov. James E. McGreevey's tell-all memoir, "The Confession," will be released across America, and the storm of publicity over the book has been like an assault to the senses.
"She just wants it to be done and move on with her life," said Jerry Casciano, who served as McGreevey's official photographer and who has maintained a close friendship with the former first lady. "She's just disgusted with everything." The book, a chronicle of McGreevey's life as a closeted homosexual and his political rise and fall, includes sometimes salacious details about the former governor's affair with Golan Cipel, the man McGreevey placed on the state payroll. It was threats of the affair's exposure that ultimately prompted McGreevey to resign.
Perhaps more troubling to Matos McGreevey than the accounts of Cipel, Casciano said, are the personal details of her relationship with her husband, from their lack of intimacy to his description of their marriage as a "contrivance." Matos McGreevey, who is negotiating with her husband for a divorce, has repeatedly declined to comment about the book. She likewise turned down an invitation to appear on the "The Oprah Winfrey Show" with McGreevey, who taped an hour-long segment in Chicago last week.
Casciano, 51, said his friend's silence is by design, meant to protect the couple's 5-year-old daughter, Jacqueline. "The underlying current is, 'My daughter doesn't need anything like this,'" Casciano said. "And she doesn't. It wears on you." Casciano has known and photographed McGreevey since 1991, when the former governor ascended to the mayor's office in Woodbridge. In later years, he also became close with Matos McGreevey, a woman he compares to Jacqueline Kennedy. "She's poised," "She's classy."

She must have the worst gaydar of any person alive.
Perhaps she knew all along, but just stayed in it for the money and the power, much like Hillary has done for years while knowing about Bill's extramarital behavior.
Love is blind.
It may be more apparent to those on the fringe.
The fact that this man wrote such a salacious tell-all book, totally disregarding the effect it might have on his daughter..let alone the wife he dishonored and humiliated..just shows what a truly despicable, selfish man he is.
She's waiting to see how much money he makes from his book tour before she takes a settlement.
Smart lady.
If she is a victim I feel sorry for her. If their relationship was simply a Clinton-type "arrangement," then I guess she gets what she deserves.
Apparently it's deaf, dumb, and stupid as well.

If you have any doubts about that, just ask yourself how she and the kid ended up living in a small, modest home in Rahway while her deranged freak of a "husband" settled down with his boy-toy sweetheart in a million-dollar home 15 miles away.
I might of felt sorry for her if she had not stood next to him like a stepford wife at the press conference.
I agree with you 100%. He's a very sleezy guy. And my fellow New Jerseyans have seen fit to replace him with another corrupt zleaze-meister.
Ben Franklin said to "Keep your eyes wide open before marriage, and half shut afterwards."
She's not the first woman who has been duped. I feel bad for the little girl, some day she'll find out dad was busy having sex with a man when she was coming into this world.
Amen.
If their was a "lack of intimacy" in the marriage, where did the kid come from?

Nor would this be the first time the American public has been duped by two people who are so disordered and neurotic that we can't possibly believe the lengths they would go to in pursuing their ambitions.
She hasn't been duped at all. She may have been living in a state of denial at one time (how else to explain why she would get married to a guy who was known to be a homosexual even by people like me who have never met him?), but she very quickly became a willing accomplice in his fraud.
Good question.
I knew a woman who finally figured out that her husband and father of their children was gay when he moved his boyfriend into the house with the family. I never knew the husband only her, but I wonder, how could she NOT figure it out before.
He resigned to keep the affair quiet? And he did it by calling a press conference and admitting to the affair? No, in fact he was under investigation for all sorts of corruption. The gay american thing was a nice excuse to get out of office before the noose was placed around his neck, that's all.
