Minutemen Project founder Jim Gilchrist was attacked by angry, violent protesters last night who stormed the stage during his speech at Columbia University in New York City, forcing an abrupt end to the event.
An African-American member of the Minuteman board who spoke prior to Gilchrist was taunted with the "n-word," according to WND columnist Jerome Corsi.
Corsi had been scheduled to follow Gilchrist with a speech of his own, but after university security personnel whisked the Minuteman leader offstage, the New York Young Republican Club meeting was shut down.
A video of the chaos at Roone Arledge Auditorium, shot by Columbia University Television, can be seen here.

... I'm just SEW relieved that it wasn't a Conservative who used that word. A crime against humanity could havebeen cocmmitted. But, thank Goodness, it was someone of the Stalinist persuasion so it's okay. What a relief!
The left wing of this country are fascists...
I wouldn't be surprised if the Minuteman deal wasn't a set up, to show how the anti-American left not only think like, but act like, the ever outraged muzzies.
More like rabid animals from the look of the video.
America's colleges are a da*n joke anyway.Go to college and get fleeced because you will not get an education.A BEATING MAYBE but no education! They are all a bunch of dumbasse*!

"I don't feel like we need to apologize or anything. It was fundamentally a part of free speech. ... The Minutemen are not a legitimate part of the debate on immigration."
It is "free speech" to completely interrupt and supress the free speech rights of assembly and speaking???
Oh, it is okay to supress them because they are not a "legitimate part of the debate".
What kind of debate is it to run at the oppostition, punch, kick, yell, and disrupt?
Liberals seeks to criminalize conservative thought. Are YOU guilty of thoughtcrime? You have no rights to assemble.
'I don't feel like we need to apologize or anything. It was fundamentally a part of free speech. ... The Minutemen are not a legitimate part of the debate on immigration.' "
So, let me get this straight. Violently charging the stage is free speech, but speaking from the stage is not "legitimate" speech? What a hypocrite! A troop of baboons would have behaved better than these leftist thugs.
Leftist students do this all the time. They are the scummy dregs of the West because they are totalitarians in a free society.
They think exactly like petty criminals do... there is absolutely no difference whatsoever. These are merely criminal minds who prefer politics rather than thievery.
These people are a bigger danger to Western freedoms than just about any other group in the West... and every single one of them votes Democrat (read: Socialist) or Green.
Don't look for logic, reason or civility in these people. I've known many of them personally and believe me, you won't find any redeeming qualities. They are nothing but ticks on our society. Treat them like the verminous criminals they are and you'll get much further.
Howie Dean and George Sorros must be salivating.
It's wonderful that our colleges, universities, government and media give illegals everything they want and give law abiding citizens D*CK.
I won't be suprised if the footage of the event gets aired on O'Reilly's
TV show tonight.
The audio was played on O'Reilly's radio show today. It was just
the sound of what you'd expect in a riot.
In a gun-free forum.
Oh, but it will happen again, and again, and again.
As an attendee, or rather more than an attendee, I have a lot of information. However, because possible legal action may occur, I am limited in what I can say.
The event was co-sponsored by the Columbia University College Republicans (CUCR) and the Columbia College Conservative Club (C4). I was the founder of CCCC and served as its president from 1999-2001.
The protestors were a mix of groups. There were student organizations such as the Chicano Caucus, SPEAK, and the Greens.
There were also outside organizations like the International Socialist Organization, the Spartacists, ANSWER, and Not In our Name.
I should note that communists not only lecture at Columbia but teach there as well.
Frankly, many of the communists and perpetually agreieved were angry that the House Immigration bill had been signed. Unable to take it out on the president, they attacked our event.
In theory the disrupting students, especially those who acted violently, can be expelled from the university.
In 1998, leftists students and outside agitators, with the help the Rupp administration, had an Accuracy in Academia conference kicked off campus. To my knowledge, no student was punished, not even those who tried to break into a private event.
Lee Bollinger who used an affirmative action protest bake sale held by CCCC as an excuse to not only fund the Diversocrats but also to make Affirmative Action a goal in hiring. Whites can be hired provided they promote progressive and tolerant views.
Since the administration is already trying to shift blame on non-student guests, I hate to think what the university will do now.
If I were inclined to use hysterical language, I might be tempted to compare this with the round-up of Jews after Krystallnacht and the fining of Jewish communities for the clean up of the mess.
