CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.

According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.

The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.

The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.

The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

How is this plan "backfiring"?

None of this makes Foley look better.

Foley thought the kid was 16. You think that's a "private matter"?

Which "kid," under which circumstance? Are you talking about the e-mail exchanges with the former page from Louisiana, who was sixteen at the time? The FBI looked at those e-mails and decided there was nothing actionable in them.

To my knowledge there have been no other "16 year olds" in this scenario. There was at least one former page who claimed he was 17 when he engaged in some kind of communication with Foley, but since his state was not identified, it is not clear that there was anything illegal there either.

Just going by what the charges are.

If you don't want to accept that Foley has not been accused of physically molesting or laying a hand on any underage boy, then so be it..Unless you can prove otherwise?

Foley has resigned. He is gone. What part of that don't you understand?

So you like homo recruiters? I find them disgusting.

I suppose you can provide a quote of mine, where I've said that?

Foley is gone, good riddance, I just hate how the media is now playing these former Pages stories as gospel when their stories don't hold water.

Um actually he waited until after he completed the program, he was older than 16 since you have to be sixteen to qualify for the page programs. I think you are over hysterical here.

Keep in mind, Foley was well aware of the law, since he authored it. These "kids" were 18 when the sexual IM's took place. Again the little snot lawyered up with a criminal defense attorney.

I do not condone the behavior but if both parties are adults then legally it's not my business.

I finally found a charge that fits the circumstances... importuning and attempted unlawful sexual contact with a minor.

In the article, Chat room meetings lead to two arrests, two men were arrested as a result of a chat room sting conducted by a police officer posing as a 15 year old.

I'm still trying to find the statute.

In the IM log where the page clearly said he wasn't yet 18, Foley said some pretty disguting things, like telling him to "strip down" and asking him if he's horny.

No it's not groupthink. Groupthink is not waiting for all the facts to come out and burning the man at the stake. Groupthink is to swallow the dems ploy and decapitate the Republican leadership thereby handing the House back to the Dems.

Groupthink is getting all hysterical when the facts show there is no need to get so worked up. Sorry but you are the one who is falling for the groupthink that the dems were hoping for to happen. It is NOT going to work this time because we know what they are up to. The only thing is they are destroying a person in the process.

Foley is no longer an issue as far as the House goes because he resigned. The more that comes out about this ugly episode the more it shows the hypocritical dems for what they are. Power hungry vultures.

The man is out of office and is being investigated. The truth will come out. If guilty, he goes to jail. It's that simple.

The article you cite lists "encouraging, offering or soliciting sexual conduct over the Internet with anyone under 18" as a crime.

That is NOT what was being discussed, however.

The subject was (is) charging someone with a crime when they THINK they are chatting with a minor but are really chatting with a law enforcement officer.

Groupthink is going along with the Stone-age press and Libs so you don't have to stay and fight. Laura Ingrahm is a prime example, find an excuse to agree with the Libs so you are insulated from the manufactured scandal.

I don't know of anyone expressing sympathy for Foley or saying he's the victim..... I despise Foley, and good riddance! What a lot of us are now interested in, since Foley is gone, is this: what did the Demagogues know and when did they know it, who has been manipulating these issues behind the scenes, why do there seem to be some large time lapses between when certain individuals learned of the IMs and when something was actually done about them, etc.

Just look at some of the threads with details on how the CREW transcripts appear to be doctored, how people around Nancy Pelosi and very possibly Pelosi herself knew about this long before the Republican leadership did, etc. We are talking about the apparent manipulations of the evidence and details of this scandal, not the scandal of Foley himself. If you can't see that Demagogic scum fingerprints are all over this then your eyes aren't open.

A "chickenhawk" ~ right ~ and everybody he's going after is 18 or over ~ clue, by that time some other chickenhawk has already got to them.

Foley is clearly an aging gay drunk looking for a date.

I am sick of hearing on the news every half hour that 2/3rds of the country think the Republicans tried to cover this up! I am soo mad at the MSM! They are the ones spreading these lies, and getting the public outraged! grrrrrr! I need to walk away from the computer.

That is true. Like I said earlier, if the dems ploy works then Nancy Pelosi is 2 heartbeats away from the presidency. Good Lord that should wake all of us up at how critical this election is.

I don't condone any of the behavior from Foley to the snotty kids to the dems using this to make the values voters stay home this election. However, we are at war and our soldiers need us to do our part while they do theirs. There are a lot of things that needs to be addressed within the GOP leadership but when it comes down to it we can't afford to lose the focus in this election.
