According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

This is going to get even more interesting. After watching the news when Istook said it was a Democrat blog that outed the former page, I went to the blogger's website and most of the links this guy has on his blog site are to Republican and Conservative blogs. That tells me that Istook is not telling like it is either.
His hired the worst campaign staff in history, is getting no traction, but it was a Dim site that outed this former page who now says it was a prank but the kid is a victim according to Istook who now the rumor has is no longer working for Istook. The Istook press conference was not the best to say the least.
Personally, I can't stand Wexler and every time he's on T.V., he creeps me out.
It has turned into a stench! :)

and yet the MSM, as evidence by the Foley scandal, has completly missed the whole internet growth and story.
They know it is there but they don't understanding it.
It's an economic problem for them, really. They could never afford to assemble even a fraction of the talent posting on FR - not in their wildest dreams. It was a very odd press conference by Istook.
Still haven't figured out why they (Istook) hired these two from San Diego who don't have a clue about Oklahoma.

We are going to go all out for Joe Negron,and after I meet with him tomorrow I am going to try and get his schedule so that others in the 16CD can get to meet him.Our local GOP is restricted what we can do because of Campaign Finance laws,but we have individuals and volunteers that are broken glass Pubbies. Joe Negron will be on the local Talk Radio program and I heard him on a Station in Broward County on Tuesday about 8am. They were impressed with him,especially that he was not media savvy, that was a plus in their book. He sounded very good and even though Broward is not in the 16CD Charlotte COunty,Glades,and others are in the listening area of their signal. I will also post his Web info as I get it, in case people want to donate. From what I understand he can take some of the money that he collected for the Florida attorney General race if the people that donated the money sign off. I will check more thoroughly on that and post that also.

Dems Conspired On Foley Leak?
I am putting a question mark at the end of the title of this post out of caution because rumors are just that - rumors. But reader Roonent1 pointed out this comment at Polipundit which hints at some coming bad news for Dems:
FYI, you may have heard this, but Selena Zito with the Pittsburgh Tribune Review (I’m pretty sure that’s right) called in on a local (Birmingham, Alabama) talk radio program this morning. She said a major story might break today that a high ranking Democrat knew about the Foley matter and she hinted there was coordination with ABC, probably possibly [AJStrata: Modified per author’s requested intent in comment section] through George Stephanopoulos to release the story. (Not taking away from what a disgusting creep Foley is, but considering the reaction by the Dems to the story, this would look pretty bad for them IMO). Zito said she had a few more facts to verify, she does not want to report anything until she’s absolutely certain.
The wheels my be coming of the bus here soon.
