CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

What "something, really big" are we missing??
The age of consent is 16.
I'm sure you've received dozens of replies since you posted early on a lengthy thread.
The reason could be that the GOP decided the political capital expended on defending this situation would take a lot of time and attention away from their campaign issues (WOT, national defense, etc.).
Also, when all is said and done, they would be defending someone who still did something very stupid. Never, NEVER give anyone anything to use against you when you are in the political arena.
LOL I keep coming back to this post and it keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger! I swear it will be over 2000 by the time I get home and pop on Free Republic again!
Talk to me about Chuck Schumer.
>>>Here is a quote from Golda Meir, "Let me tell you something that we Israelis have against Moses. He took us 40 years through the desert in order to bring us to the one spot in the Middle East that has no oil!">>>
I just love that Golda Meir, she is brilliant!
They have their template and stick to it. They do not live in the world of reality. I do not expect them to change.
Drudge exploded a neutron bomb on them, Rush/Sean/Mark talked about it... The news is out. Welcome to the New Media!
What day did Foley resign?
Because Freeh was left hanging in the breeze by the Clintoons...
She KNOWS he'll ream them a new one...
Who now admits the entire thing was a prank and he approached Foley, not the other way around.
It's also careless of Foley, and the fact he was a former page is disturbing to me. Not a good idea. The kids did what kids do. Foley crossed several lines. There was at least one IM where he said careful I'm not 18 yet... EVEN if not illegal, a terrible disservice to the country, IMO. Parents of pages should not have to worry about Congressmen going after their kids. I would be shocked if this is the 1st time anything approaching the Studds/Crane incidents (which were MUCH WORSE) happened between officials and pages.
I would say that could happen.
Roger Ailes does write the checks.
This ain't over ~ and these young men really do have to prove they are NOT GAY and didn't engage in extensive underage drinking.
It's not right, I wouldn't like it, but he's not a pedophile. A predatory homosexual, that's what he is.
Because there was nothing to deny.
If it was G.Studds (D) Mass district he would not resign, they would vote for him again, unlike the (R) dominated district Foley represents.
The Edumand kid getting a lawyer should dispel that. Someone that is innocent of being a victim only does not get a CRIMINAL DEFENSE attorney.
