The Chicago City Council, reacting to the shooting of a teenager, has banned the sale and possession of air guns such as BB guns that look like real guns. The ban also applies to any replica that shoots a projectile, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. The action comes in the wake of the August police shooting of a teenager who was carrying a Daisy PowerLine Model 93 BB-gun made to look like a Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol. "This will help save the lives of many, many people ... If an officer has to hesitate and examine the situation to see if the gun is real, that officer is going to die," said Alderman Burton Natarus, who introduced the measure. Mayor Richard M. Daley said gun violence is escalating and referred to this week's school shooting that left five Amish girls dead in Pennsylvania.

Is water considered a projectile? I know some places ban water guns because some dumba$$ was shooting bleach in people's faces.

We made some great guns using a strip of inner tube as the projectile and a clothes pin as the trigger.

Say goodbye to the spud gun as well.
even Canada isn't THAT bad. Congrats on a new threshhold of knee-jerk Liberal reaction, Chicago.

Mayor Richard M. Daley said gun violence is escalating and referred to this week's school shooting that left five Amish girls dead in Pennsylvania. Yeah, if only Chicago had this bb gun ban earlier, those Amish lives would have been saved. /sarcasm

I think we should sponsor the Chicago City Council's trip to a Texas gun range. They'd literally die of fright when they saw what we shoot.

When all the guns are gone, we will all be safer except from those who will still have them (the government)!
To: HuntsvilleTxVeteran
We also made a contraption made from a clothespin and rubber band that fired wooden matches that lit upon firing.
