Congresswoman Harris commented, Unlike my opponent, I will fight for our hard-working families who struggle to afford our Florida lifestyle while being forced to pay more in taxes to support illegal aliens. Floridians want secure borders and fewer taxes, not amnesty as Bill Nelson supports.
Bill Nelson has been rated as an Enemy of the Taxpayer by the Americans for Tax Reform, and the amnesty plan that he promotes would grant special rights and privileges to illegal immigrants, such as providing social security benefits for the years they were here illegally and offering in-state college tuition for their children, all of which will add to the excessive tax burden Floridians already endure.

Hello lovely lady. Thanks for the ping. It's getting down to crunch time. The First lady and I can't wait to vote. We would crawl over broken glass naked, in a hurricane to cast our ballot.
Oops, since you know us, sorry for the visuals...

I had a friend who I used to work with who moved to Florida.
He was a good painter and had worked for years as a part time painter. He thought he would supplement his retirement by painting in florida. He soon moved back up here to Maryland when he found he couldnt compete with illegals.

Yaknow, as much as I would like to see Harris beat Nelson, it's hard to see this happening. But I'll vote for her anyway. You never know.
What I do know, is that that this sudden conversion to the immigration restrictionist side is election year posturing. She has never been a friend on this issue, choosing instead to support GWB in his sell out of the American middle class in league with McCain and Kennedy. Look at the voting record in the House.
But now that she has talked the talk, vote for her anyway. God knows Nelson has thrown the American people under the bus on immigration. Maybe we can make her walk the walk. Just don't buy the B.S.

I've had a couple of talks with her regarding illegal immigration and I'm convinced that she will now 'walk the walk'.
She came out very early against amnesty for illegals and I think this is a winning issue for her against Nelson!

LOL......I know how you feel!
I got my absentee ballot yesterday & I am eager to fill it in.
I always vote absentee so I can be available to poll watch and/or help GOTV on election day!

Illegals are a problem in FL and a number of states.
Studies show that they do take jobs away from citizens and we know they are costly for the US taxpayer.

Thank you Congresswoman Harris for fighting to secure our borders. We need that sort of leadership in the Senate, rather than RINOs like McCain.

Could be, it is the issue that will attract mainstream voters from both parties. The "silent majority" is pretty fed-up with mass immigration. She needs to find a way to make this position known in no uncertain terms to a hostile press. That is a real challenge. I wouldn't know if not for your post, but you are preaching to the choir.
And be skeptical about being against "amnesty". Everyone's against "amnesty" the word. But if you favor anything but enforcement and deportation, it's the same thing.

Harris is using a smart campaign issue, Amnesty. The GOP hasn't entirely caught on that this one issue is as important as the WOT. Any candidate R or D supporting Amnesty could get pummelled by an opponent who is against Amnesty.

Good to see Harris learned her lesson!

If an illegal alien avoids being picked up, or remains here after receiving deportation orders, the next thing they look for are incentives, rewards and benefits. Amnesty is the largest of these rewards and gives illegal aliens a path to citizenship or makes them instantly legal. Senator Bill Nelson has voted in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens.
Senator Bill Nelson has voted in favor of giving illegal aliens further rewards and other incentives to come such as in-state tuition, educational benefits, welfare and health care services.

Bill Nelson would be a disaster for this country - for conservatives and for liberals. He obviously hates the USA and is eager to rewards criminal behavior. Scary to have someone such as him in a position of power.
