Monroe Boy Linked to Foley Scandal
KARD TV ^ | October 3, 2006 | Joseph Pleasant

Posted on 10/03/2006 9:42:51 PM PDT by kms61

When a Monroe teenager first contacted a member of Rodney Alexander's staff about email messages from former Florida Congressman Mark Foley the young man asked the staff member not to say anything. But once a reporter contacted Representative Alexander, the congressman said he had to report the incident.

The young man in question says he wants all the media attention to just go away. "He's in school and trying to understand whats going on," U.S Congress Rep. Rodney Alexander said. "He is upset, needless to say, and his parents are concerned."

Out of Washington and in his Monroe office, Representative Rodney Alexander is one of the few people talking to a Monroe teenager pulled into the latest political scandal. It's a scandal that has some making threats on the young man's life. "There are some people out there that think this young man is responsible for bringing down a member of Congress," said Alexander, "but we know that is not the case."

Once a champion for protecting children from online predators, Foley's email to a Monroe teenager asking for a picture, eventually lead to not only his resignation from Congress but the discovery of alleged sexual messages with other teenage boys. "There are emails and messages out there with severe implications," Alexander said. "Sexual implications that this young man did not receive."

Alexander says his main goal is to protect the young man's well being. One way he is doing that is by asking the media to shift the focus from one teenager. "There are other pages sponsored by other members of Congress," Alexander said. "No one is saying what did they do? What did they know? How did they try to stop this?"

Hopefully questions that will be answered as the pieces of this political puzzle continue to fall into place. Representative Alexander says the young man's parents are very concerned and upset by the attention on their son. Some wondered if Rep. Alexander will face a political backlash during his re-election bid for turning over the email that set these events in motion. He said, simply, he could.

But the staffer told the Congressman.
That doesn't gel with the story line.
...the young man asked the staff member not to say anything. But once a reporter contacted Representative Alexander, the congressman said he had to report the incident.
The staffer would be the one who had to have told the reporter to fit the story line.

But once a reporter contacted Representative Alexander, the congressman said he had to report the incident.
The reporter could've expressed the 'boy's' desire to not have anything further said and that he only wanted the comunications stopped.
Then the congressman would've had to have reported the incident.

Unless the staffer violated the boy's trust and told Alexander.

It's not clear in the story who Alexander reported to.

and how did the second page, the one with the IMs - know to log them, hold them for years, and then get "plugged in" to the DNC and ABC?

How do we know the "second page" was not a Democrat operative? Foley could have been duped in the same way child predators are fooled by police into thinking they are conversing with young teens.

What a coincidence... 97.
coincidence is 2 : the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection; also
Or even fortuitous...
FORTUITOUS so strongly suggests chance that it often connotes entire absence of cause

True, but conjecture would dictate that it would be to his superiors, wouldn't you say?

Again, that doesn't gel with the story line...in this article, anyway.

If this scandal evolves with an anonymous player, you can bet it is a Democrat Political operation --- just like the MD4BUSH scandal here in Maryland.

Honestly, does that even matter in the grand scheme of things? The central point in this whole matter is what Foley did, not where the report of the act came from. Sorry, but it makes us look as though we're saying the act of reporting this and who reported it is worse than what was reproted.

Yes there were IMs around in 1997, like AOL or ICQ

I do think it matters where they came from, only because the dems are now playing their moral high ground game (which is a joke in itself). They are saying pubbies covered this up, but when it is revealed that it was the dems that covered it up, it will be a story. No one approves of what foley did, in fact it was disgusting and vile; but for the dems to use this for political gain, or at least try to, is absurd. After all they are the party of NAMBLA (man/boy love association), protector of barney frank (his lover was running a male prostitute ring out of his house), etc. etc. etc. The dem lib media is trying to slander the entire party over this incident; they will not get away with that anymore.

If guilty, he is beyond any redemption.

Nah....

He could always switch to the Dems - he'd fit right in.

Thank you!

Yes...it is sad.
I don't understand why anyone would
issue death threats against him.

Had he been my child, Foley would
most likely be in the hospital,
rather than rehab.

NY Times

"Mr. Ross said he was surprised by how quickly the congressman’s office confirmed the authenticity of the e-mail messages, first when ABC reported them on Sept. 28, and again a day later when confronted with much more explicit exchanges."

""He's in school and trying to understand whats going on," U.S Congress Rep. Rodney Alexander said."

This ISN'T the kid who was talking about how he abused the towels his mother then had to wash, right?
The Emails this kid received weren't of a sexual nature, right?

This "boy" is now a 19 year old, am I right so far?
If so, to say that he is " just trying to understand what's going on" says to me that this kid is a few bricks short of a full load. The other IM, with all the towel sex, was made about 3 years ago it seems, and it was an IM in which the "kid" certainly didn't appear to NOT know what was going on, and was in fact quite willing to explain his methods without being provoked to do so.

Now, who would save an IM file for so long? Even someone who doesn't maintain their PC very often would have wiped these files off at some point with even the cheapest of PC maintenance programs, or have bought a new PC by now.

It looks to me that this particular IM, the towel humping one, was deliberately created by someone who knew of Foley's fettishes, shortly after the last election, and sat on all this time for use during this one.

I don't know how many times I've read while lerking around DU during their whining and crying and near suicide attempts after they lost, that they should begin gathering dirt to release during the next one.

There seems to be a few other questionable emails floating around as well, and some comments by RATS that their "plan" and hard work was successful.

While I'm glad Foley is gone, there remains the questions brought up by some of these IM's and emails that look fabricated in order to exploit Foley's sickness, not just to have him removed, but to use as an election time exploit to damage the whole Republican side. They certainly were not supressed to protect naive young boys.

Let's hope the FBI do not overlook these less than truthful exploits.

This one is currently 17, and was not the recipient of the explicit IMs.
