Rogers – in a March 4, 2005, post on his website BlogActive.com – declared Foley to be "gay" and, therefore, a hypocrite for voting for legislation against the homosexual agenda. The post said: "MARK FOLEY WILL BE EXPOSED FOR THE HYPOCRITE HE IS THROUGH A MAIL AND INTERNET CAMPAIGN THAT WILL REACH INTO EVERY HOME IN HIS DISTRICT."

• In 1983, then-Democratic Rep. Gerry Studds of Massachusetts was caught in a similar situation. In his case, Studds had sex with a male teenage page -- something Foley hasn't been charged with.

Did Studds express contrition? Resign? Quite the contrary. He rejected Congress' censure of him and continued to represent his district until his retirement in 1996.

• In 1989, Rep. Barney Frank, also of Massachusetts, admitted he'd lived with Steve Gobie, a male prostitute who ran a gay sex-for-hire ring out of Frank's apartment. Frank, it was later discovered, used his position to fix 33 parking tickets for Gobie.

What happened to Frank? The House voted 408-18 to reprimand him -- a slap on the wrist. Today he's an honored Democratic member of Congress, much in demand as a speaker and "conscience of the party."

• In 2001, President Clinton, who had his own intern problem, commuted the prison sentence of Illinois Rep. Mel Reynolds, who had sex with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer and pressured her to lie about it. (Reynolds also was convicted of campaign spending violations.)

The Dems knew and they let Foley continue to serve to use for politics.

They disgust me and I want every single damn one of them run out of office. How dare they risk the safety of people's children as if they are political footballs akin to a tax cut bill.

Hey Dems, guess what, It's On Now.

You've succeeded in making me give a damn about this election and now I want you to fry. You are scum. As if the Osama cheerleading wasn't bad enough, this is an even new low. Prepare for backlash.

Who gives a damn. He quit. What is the purpose of further screwing over the man. Kind of like dancing on a grave. Makes this rag look cheep.

I've read several times that the dems knew about the IMs and the GOP leaders did not; can you link the story with that revelation? I've been looking for it.

If it's true, Rogers is an accessory after the fact and just as liable legally as Foley. He should be prosecuted along side Foley for whatever crimes Foley is eventually charged with.

Okay, he WAS set up, but that doesn't excuse his behavior. Unlike democrats who didn't care that Kennedy let a girl drown, that Barney had a male prostitute ring running out of his house, and that Clinton had a young intern in the oval office, I do care! WE don't just ignore sex offenders in our party, we tell them to hit the road! What hypocrites the rats are!

From the American Thinker.... LINK

Dramatis Personae

Steve Gilbert of Sweetness & Light uncovers a very interesting item from the Washington Blade, a gay newspaper, about Mike Rogers and John Aravosis, who have come under scrutiny elsewhere as possibly involved in the black blog stopsexpredators.com. Rogers had posted about Foley on his own site Blogactive. They let their mouths run a bit to a friendly rag.

Rogers said the outings have picked up steam — from 13 documented offices to nearly 20 currently on a target list provided by Rogers to the Blade.

In addition to Tolman, Rogers and Aravosis, working in tandem but not together, claimed in the last week to have outed via the Web Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland and Republican Congressman Mark Foley of Florida…

Aravosis said he obtained the latest information about the five-term congressman from Foley’s former chief of staff, Kirk Fordham.

Steve gathers some other damning evidence,

it seems very probable that one or all of the gentlemen mentioned in this article have had a hand in the recent revelations about Mark Foley.

It is equally likely that one or all of them is behind the anonymous website, StopSexPredators.blogspot.com, that first produced Foley’s alleged emails out of the blue.

Michael Rogers started his own website, blogactive.com, back in July of 2004.

Oddly enough, there was a significant drop-off in his activities there after July of this year, which is when StopSexPredators.blogspot.com was begun.

and

in his latest post at Blogactive Michael Rogers shows he has to Mark Foley’s IM account.

The FBI is investigating the case. They have the power to put these people under oath. I hope they are already using it.

Once again, the amoral misusing terms like "hypocrite." One can be gay but think to change marriage or other laws to accomodate homosexuality is an unwarranted imposition on cultural and societal norms. I love when these jackasses misuse the term "hypocrite." It would be nice if they'd actually learn the true meaning of the word before hijacking it to further their satanic agendas.

Thank you for saying that.

We're NOT like other side of the aisle. We stand for MORAL VALUES.

The Dems don't stand for that.

No wonder we have so many gay Republicans in Congress.

How else can you explain their constant willingness to bend over to the Democrats?

Does it even feel like we've ever had a majority?

Doesn't it seem like Democrats are running the show up there already?

I despise Foley for what he did. That doesn't excuse the 'Rats for using this for a political football--and worse, sitting on the story (while he might have gone after even more pages) instead of doing something to stop him.

As I said on another thread, it's not so much the outing that angers me--it's the how, and worse, the when.

I do think this is a Wellstone moment.

We have blogs bragging that they are doing this. BTW: they brag about outting " Democratic Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland".

Where is the outrage? Where is even a mention?
