September 29, 2006 — The following is an instant message exchange a former page says he had with Rep. Foley in 2003. Warning: sexually explicit language, reader discretion is advised:

Factually, I have no doubt that Foley is guilty: he's practically said so himself. As a non-lawyer, I can't speak about the legal aspects -- upon which you may well be right -- but from purely a factual standpoint it's clear the man is guilty.
It looked like dialogue from a VH1 reality show.
"Curious. How do we KNOW this is accurate? How do you record Instant Messages?"
On my companies IM system you can save the conversation to a file. If that was what happened it sounds like someone was preparing for a setup.
"Looks like Foley has a good shot at a Liable suit against ABC if this isn't true."
If Foley wasn't guilty he wouldn't have stepped down.
An adult man who holds one of the most powerful posts in the country is allegedly preying on 16-year-old kids in his and his colleagues' emply, and you're criticizing the kid for playing a "cruel joke?"
Please, if the kid's evidence leads to prosecution of a child predator, the kid isn't cruel -- he's a hero. The left thinks Linda Tripp was cruel for leading on Monica, too, but we know better.

BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....you're delusional. Him immediatly resigning says all that needs to be said about his guilt. And YES, there is a very easy way to save text messages/IMs. In most cases, they are saved automatically in a file. I know yahoo IM does this.

Beyond that, all of the big IM programs, Yahoo, AOHell, ETC, in fact, I would think that all of them in general are all hosted on servers which ALSO record each and every message by each user name.
It's probably all archived somewhere and it's only a matter of digging them up.
It happens all the time in sting ops to get these perverts.
Ah, but what if the person behind that screen name isn't Foley? Hmm?
It's VERY possible that he was set up, after a few harmless emails that might have been read in the wrong way.

My head's not in the sand, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this. There are a lot of very suspicious parts to this story. I'm surprised how many of you are quick to judge Foley.
