Translated by Mark:
Daniel Nieto Ovando, 24 and father of 3 children ages 5, 2 and 1, literaly lost his head when he hit a wire strung across a street in the Volcanes colonia which is just to the north of Colonia Reforma. According to neighbors, this blockade had been erected only the night before so that Nieto Ovando would not have known about its danger. The young dairy worker was on his way home from work at about 3:00 this morning on his motorcycle when he hit the wire, decapitating him and killing him instantly.
The "guardians" of the blockade had fallen asleep and failed to try to warn him before his neck hit the wire. What kind of ignorant dumbasses would string a wire across a busy street, at neck height and after dark? Of course the "guardians" are all long gone and there will be no criminal nor civil penalties, no recourse whatsoever for the widow and her three fatherless babies.
The young man's father-in-law, Manuel Aguirre, said, "The irresponsibility of those who put up the roadblocks and blockades was the cause of my son-in-laws death because they didn't even try to make any type of signal to warn him." He added that he didn't know how the family would scrape up the money for his funeral.
The newly widowed Jasmín Aguirre declared through tears, "It's time for the government to pull on some pants and resolve this conflict which has brought nothing but tragedies like this that our family is enduring." the family.

Here's a story that the lefty sites won't touch. I wonder if the MSM will be adding this to the casualty list resulting from the ongoing "protest"?

The Left deals only in death, hence their fixation with abortion.
What is one life, when there is a greater cause to be fought for -- ie, millions of deaths through socialism?
To: Tulsa Ramjet
I'd say any deaths that occur related to the protests are going to be reasons for escalation and more propaganda for both sides.
I'm breaking this news to counter the noise from the other side of the issue. Hopefully this incident will enter the ongoing coversation about this topic which is dominated by lefty anarchists that wish this were happening here in the US instead.

Decapitated him and killed him? As opposed to 'decapitated and not killed or serious condition'?

Incredible. Yes, I think the widow is right - it's time for the government to do something about it, because the longer these thugs get to run Oaxaca, the more entrenched they will be and the more blood will be spilt in the end.

And the REASON the barricades were put up in the first place was....?
If this a low-level guerrilla action against the elected legal government of Mexico, then the perpetrators of this offense against non-combatant civilians have gravely overstepped their bounds. This crosses over from a "resistance" movement to become a criminal enterprise, preying on innocents and ducking out on the consequences.
Indistinguishable from the carnage that goes on every day in Iraq.

The same kind who use the highway as a path to herd cattle at night, a common practice in some parts of Mexico, and the same kind who drive down rural roads at night with their headlights off so they can better see the headlights of oncoming traffic, another brilliant accident-avoidance strategy commonplace down there.

When I was training as a respiratory therapist, I learned that one of the contraindications for CPR was - I kid you not - "decapitation"...

"Incredible. Yes, I think the widow is right - it's time for the government to do something about it, because the longer these thugs get to run Oaxaca, the more entrenched they will be and the more blood will be spilt in the end."
One of the saddest things about the whole situation is that the Mexican public must be made to understand the necessity of the use of force against the "protestors" (I'd like to use a couple of less pleasant names here) who have taken over Oaxaca City and brought the city and state government to a standstill. Lopez Obrador and the PRD have been doing everything they can to push the federal government into a retaliatory act they will be able to call a provocación (provocation) and around which they can mobilize leftist resistance, which they intend to focus upon rendering Felipe Calderon's presidency impotent. Slowly but surely, the tone of popular discussion in Mexico is turning against the protestors -- who actually had a point initially in that Oaxacan Governor Ulises Ruiz, whose removal from office they are demanding, is manifestly corrupt -- and it is beginning to appear likely that there will be little public sympathy across the country when the Mexican federal government does act. And there can be no doubt that they will act if APPO and the PRD do not come to grips with the fact that the recall referendum the Mexican federal government is offering as part of a package deal to bring the protest to an end is the best they can do. I'm of the opinion that the PRD leadership does not want a solution, they want a provocación they can use to rally angry supporters. And the people of Oaxaca are going to pay the price.

yrd, the didaction of the article's contents at the beginning of this thread is pretty much comprehensive. The only other things included are details about the reporting of the event, the children, etc. You're not missing anything important.

I've got this one in hand Alia, but thank you for thinking of me.
I'm going to be posting a translation on the Venezuelan election later today, maybe around 4:00 p.m. Central. I have some work issues that are taking up some of my time at the moment.
