Good news... Bad news... [Blog Active admits tipping off DCCC about Foley]

Well the good news is that the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is finally getting it. I called their Director of Communications, Bill Burton, to let him know that the Foley thing (and another case) were coming down the pike. While Burton promised to have someone email or return my call and didn't, I am glad he followed up on my call and was ready on Friday to come out of the gate running.

The bad new is they are still not paying enough attention... There are others within reach... If the Democrats would only fight half as hard as the Republicans.

I posted comments at the DCCC website on the Foley entry. Not only do their promises of returned calls and emails never come to fruition, but now they are deleting my comments from their blog, The Stakeholder.

Luckily the comments were cached before they axed them.

Here's the one I put up at 9:55pm:

Very exciting.

I am glad my work on this is finally coming to fruition. I spoke with Bill Burton at the DCCC about this and I'm so glad you guys were able to jump in on the heels of my work.

Obviously we didn't have a chance at winning this seat, so this is great.

Good Job!

Well, at least they are paying attention.

Check out this thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1711702/posts

Here's an excerpt from the original post:

And one more point that our dimwitted lefty friends can’t seem to wrap their miniscule brains around; the incident that was brought to the attention of the Page Board is unconnected to any of the raunchy, sick emails ABC news got from, as Clarice informs us, CREW.”

Seems CREW has some explaining to do.

UPDATE III: CREW is a George Soros funded organization, but there is more:

“From 1995 to 1998, CREW’s Melanie Sloan served as minority counsel for the House Judiciary Committee under Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.). Before that, Sloan served as the nominations counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee under Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.).

According to GOP research, Mark Penn, who had been a pollster for President Clinton, and Daniel Berger, a major Democratic donor, are on CREW’s board. Spokeswoman Naomi Seligman declined several requests to reveal the membership of CREW’s board, although she confirmed that Penn and Berger are members. Last year, Berger made a $100,000 contribution to America Coming Together (ACT), a 527 group that was dedicated to defeating Bush in the presidential election, according to politicalmoneyline.com, a website that tracks fundraising.”

So we have a person who served under Clinton, and Rep. “Inpeachment” Conyers, who just “happened” to obtain emails and chats and “holding them” to just six weeks out of a midterm election where IF Democrats gain control of Congress, said Rep. Conyers has promised to impeach President Bush. More here.

Right. CREW was also instrumental behind the “get Delay” effort. More on CREW here. By Sloan’s admission, when she came on board at CREW her “mission” (before anything was known) was to “get Tom Delay”.

However, if CREW did indeed withhold evidence against Rep. Foley, for any length of time, they may have stepped over the line. In any case, I think they are going to have some explaining to do.
The net widens and it's not just Republican's who somehow knew about the emails.

Several (R) Congressional offices also knew quite a while ago - did they break the law?

From everything I have read, heard and seen that is not true. The Republican leadership was involved with the "overly friendly" but not sexual emails. They had no knowledge of the sexually explicit Instant Messages until Friday.

More - this Mike Rogers guy knew about the e-mails:

As people know, it's not always possible for me to disclose my role in some of the activities.

I can say this. I had the emails before they were on the net. Additionally, I had the additional emails, written by the page to a friend. The story was being written by a number of outlets and I provided additional information to reporters involved in the breaking of this story.

Was the central figure in reporting on Foley's latest scandal? Never said I was. Was my work on the case important to helping make sure it came out before the election? Yes.

Did I have any idea that the GOP leadership was engaged in a cover-up? Nope. Do I love the fact that they are trying to spin this as 'naughty emails?' Yup. because it shows how out of tought they are about queer closet cases.

Curiouser and curiouser....I was just at Gateway Pundit where they show the 2 e-mails...and you can tell they aren't the "same" even though they are supposed to be...

I can't believe Soros and gang is stupid enough to think they can get faked memos, e-mails, letters or anything by the pajamamedia again!!

Assuming both parties were in Florida, then it's handled by Florida law, but these communications more than likely crossed borders, which puts it in the hands of federal agencies, which in fact it is.

Every one knew that Foley is gay. I haven't read the IM's, but I think that we would need some proof before, IMs can be taken for real evidence. It would be extremely unusual to save the IM communications and the whole thing is just too convenient.

Hastert is calling for an investigation into when the Democrats were made aware of the information (also, when CREW was made aware, and if they withheld information for political purposes, that could have led to abuse of under age victims.

There is much speculation that this could be another case like the Bush National Guard documents, but a lot more difficult to disprove because of the use of instant messaging.

Apparently a reporter from ABC had the text of these messages and called Foley and read them to him on the phone, basically saying, this is what I've got on you. Within an hour Foley had resigned his House seat.

The question I have is from WHOM did ABC get the text of the IMs?

They did not know about these explicit IMs until just recently. The previous messages were e-mails sent to a FORMER page, after the young man had left his post with Congress. Apparently they were NOT of a sexual nature, they were just annoying to the young man, and he told the Congressional Republican leaders so they would make Foley stop sending them.

From what I've been able to gather, Republican leaders stepped in immediately when they were made aware of the more explicit IMs. The Republican leaders in Congress are not at fault here, only Mark Foley.

I wish the Republicans would mention that the Democrats knew about the sexual content of the IM's for a long time and did NOTHING to protect the page(s), preferring instead to wait until just before the election.

So much for the DNC's mantra "it's all about the children".

I thought I'd heard that there was proof that the Dems knew about this some time ago, but maybe I misunderstood. I haven't really been able to pay much attention.

Just what Freepers and other bloggers have been able to did up

Congress needs an official investigation to get the hard evidence before they can point fingers
