:::FreeRepublic's Threat Matrix:::
Karzai Says bin Laden Not in Afghanistan
-Full Story-

President Hamid Karzai has insisted that Osama bin Laden is not in his country, in the latest installment in a row with the leader of Pakistan who says the Al-Qaeda chief is in Afghanistan.

Other militant leaders including Islamist warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar were also not in the country, Karzai told reporters in a briefing about his visit to the United States that was overshadowed by the spat.

'I can assure you they are not in Afghanistan,' Karzai said yesterday after being asked for his reaction to comments by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf who said Thursday that bin Laden is here.

TERRORISM FOCUS
(October 3, 2006)

"New Website Incites Electronic Jihad"
By Abdul Hameed Bakier

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The latest criticism of Islam being a violent religion, which was sparked by incendiary comments made by Pope Benedict XVI, has caused internet jihadis to launch a new website called Electronic Jihad, located at http://www.al-jinan.org . The purpose of the website is to help organize an electronic jihad against websites that insult Islam and Islamic sacred figures. The site has been well publicized on more established jihadi websites. Jihadi forums are posting quotes from the Quran in order to encourage and convince jihadis and regular Muslims of their duty to engage in electronic jihad and to attack anti-Islamic sites in order to shut them down. Furthermore, postings from August on the Electronic Jihad site already claim that they successfully shut down the Israeli website http://www.haganah.co.il . Thus, it seems that while street protests in response to Western criticism of Islam have died down in the Islamic world, the battle is still raging on the internet."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "On the Electronic Jihad website, the moderator of the website claims that the site organizers do not belong to any specific Islamic group or sect, instead pointing out that they are fighting on behalf of all Muslims, united under one flag to defend Islam. The website domain, however, is registered to an "Ahmad Adel" who has an Iraq mailing address, although it is not clear whether this is a false name and address. The site itself appears to be hosted by Saudi Arabian company IBTEKARAT.com, based in Saida. Software companies and programmers will, eventually, figure out ways to counter the hacking programs used by Electronic Jihad, but it will only hold off the determined jihadis temporarily until they devise other methods to attack sites that they believe offend Islam."

Thanks. Yes, as I've gone about my normal routine lately, I have been struck many times with how much I treasure the blessings I have, and then I get ticked off knowing how many people out there would love to see it all stripped away from me (and all of us).

A great big thanks to you for all your attention to this thread!

Muslim rips down tribute to 9/11 hero

26-year-old screams, 'This is political,'
as officer's cross memorial destroyed

New York City police officer Paul Talty died trying to rescue victims of 9/11 attack on World Trade Center
A 26-year-old Muslim man tore down a portion of a memorial in New York City to a fallen hero of 9/11, screaming "This is political."

Turkish-born Adnan Emre was charged yesterday with destroying the tribute to New York City police officer Paul Talty, who was one of the first responders to the 9/11 attack, rushing into the south tower of the World Trade Center as it fell, the New York Post reported. (snip)

This is the very reason I sat with my head in my hands when Brian Lamb interviewed Robert on CSPAN and repeatedly asked him where he lives. As if. Obvious Lamb doesn't understand the first thing about what's going on out there in Muslim kook world right now.

OPINION: Most of the media still thinks the war on terrorism is "over there;" when in fact the terrorists are global and the war on terrorism is global. This statement includes more than the jihadi terrorists.

Truck driver in fatal wreck required retest

A Kansas City man involved in a fatal traffic crash Sunday in Oklahoma was licensed through a Missouri truck driving school indicted for fraudulently licensing dozens of drivers.

Hussein Haji-Ege Osman died along with an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper when his tractor-trailer and the trooper’s car collided on the Will Rogers Turnpike in northeast Oklahoma.

Osman, 25, was one of the drivers being asked to retest for his commercial driver’s license as a result of the federal investigation of the West Plains driving school, according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Muslim contract in Italy

Snip: Italy Minister of Internal Affairs Giuliano Amato is planning to make all Muslims sign a "contract of values". Ministry has decided to prepare this contract to prevent Muslim men punish their daughters and wives for abiding by Western values. Although this contract will never have a legal value, it will be a contract which will show that a Muslim family living in Italy abides by Italian values.

Supreme Court rejects Appeal over Islamic indoctination in schools

Snip: The U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal Monday by evangelical Christian students and their parents who said a Contra Costa County school district engaged in unconstitutional religious indoctrination when it taught students about Islam by having them recite language from prayers.

The court, without comment, left intact a ruling by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco last November in favor of the Byron Union School District in eastern Contra Costa.

The suit challenged the content of a seventh-grade history course at Excelsior Middle School in Byron in the fall of 2001. The teacher, using an instructional guide, told students they would adopt roles as Muslims for three weeks to help them learn what Muslims believe.

She encouraged them to use Muslim names, recited prayers in class, had them memorize and recite a passage from the Quran and made them give up something for a day, such as television or candy, to simulate fasting during the month of Ramadan. The final exam asked students for a critique of elements of Muslim culture.

The students and parents who sued argued that the class activities had crossed the line from education into an official endorsement of a religious practice. A federal judge and the appeals court disagreed, saying the class had an instructional purpose and the students had engaged in no actual religious exercises.

I remembered something that was nagging at me...
"The sweetest of which is bitter"

Zawahiri video Sept. 29th:

So I said they are two things
The sweetest of which is bitter.
But I will go to that
In which there is no shame
And enough for you are two things,
The best of which is captivity.
They say to me,
You've sold safety for death.
So, I said:
By God I have not suffered loss.
And will death abandon
Me for an hour
If captivity does not abandon me?
Death is loss, so choose that
Which preserves your memory
For a man has not dies as long
As his memory is preserved.

Bin Laden tape January 19, 2006

And after this experience, the solider is caught betweeen two fires. If he refuses to leave his military barracks for the patrols, he will be hit by the butcher of Vietnam's harsh punishments. While if goes out, he will be devoured by the duel of mines. So he is stuck between two things, the sweetest of which is bitter, which puts him under awful psychological pressure, fear, humiliation and coercion and his people don't care about him.

So the only solution he finds is to commit suicide, and this is what you have been hearing about. The suicide is a powerful letter to you, which he wrote with his life and blood as pain and regret gripped him.

Sweet and bitter - what does that conjur up?

Yep, cyanide - Almonds.

The almond is highly revered in some cultures.

The tree grows in Syria and Israel, and is referred to in the Bible under the name of "Shaked", meaning "hasten".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almond#Sweet_and_bitter_almonds

Ohshizzle, also from wikipedia - I didn't know that the almond is from the peachtree family.
****
So, what does that all mean?
LOL, I haven't a clue.

It is good to look for more than one angle, more than one potential attack. Possibly two or more, and being caught between them, the "sweetest" of the two or more "will still be bitter".

Also, they are like a dog with a bone at times. They latch onto an idea for an attack and will not let go of it for years (which is why you've got to put the dirty dog down).

The 12 plane Bojinka plot didn't fly in early 1995, so they try again in the summer of 2006.

In 1993, they couldn't destabilize the supporting columns of one of the WTC towers with the explosion in the underground parking garage - - supposedly hitting the key columns needed to topple one tower onto another and bring them both down instantly (with possibly up to 50,000 dead).

So in 2001, they take the old Bojinka plot, make sure the planes are transcontinental flights fully loaded with fuel, so when they rammed them into the towers, the burning fuel would cook the steel and collapse the towers from above, instead of from below as they tried in 1993.

One of the reasons they failed in 1993 was that they didn't use enough explosives, but in a way, they also used too much.

Most people forget (or don't even know) that 1993 had a "backup" component in case the towers didn't fall - - the 1993 WTC bombing was also a crude chemical attack. If the towers didn't immediately fall like dominoes, they were supposed to fill with gas as in the Tokyo subway two years later.

But the explosives burnt off the gas in the van - - the *cyanide* gas.

We have to think multi-dimensionally with these individuals and their sponsors. With a major WMD attack, there will likely be more than one approach within the attack. They will likely see the chaos as an opportunity for follow-up.

If Bojinka was tried again this summer, and they came back at the WTC 8 years later, it stands to reason that they'll try a gas attack again. Just as they will one day go back to bio (like anthrax).

And if the "Dragonfire" stories of October/November 2001 were even close to reality, they will pursue that avenue of attack once again.

With them it is always "both-and", not "either-or".
