Lots of "chicken little" parents screeching about how Mary "endangered" their children. Go ahead and post your comments on the situation here: http://www.haloscan.com/comments/theolympian/609260315/

If there were more responsible adults on school campus legally carrying concealed firearms, it would be a deterrent to mass murderes who target schools.
I agree, please post your comments here for the benefit of the "intellectually challenged" people in Olympia who have worked themselves into hysterics: http://www.haloscan.com/comments/theolympian/609260315/
WHY COULDN'T THIS CO-WORKER JUST STFU??? The woman told you how she was protecting herself honestly. So why did the co-worker have to go running to the principal like the beeyotch she is? Jeez Louise I friggin' hate tattletalers.
...and idiocy reigns across the land once again.
After the events of last week, I think teachers should be encouraged to arm themselves.
The NRA needs to get involved in this one. Considering she's in Washingtonstan she's gonna need all the money and legal help in the world.
First, she should have obtained a court order *requiring* her to be armed in public. These are not as uncommon as you might imagine, and trump local laws. Once she had obtained a local order, then she would need to present that order to a federal judge, so that it could be extended to also supercede federal laws against carrying weapons on school grounds.
Once this had been done, the school would have had no choice but to have permitted her to be armed on school grounds.
I highly recommend that if you need a concealed weapon for immediate personal protection, that is, you have a reason to need it right now, you get such a legal order. Otherwise, there are any number of hassles you will get from all levels of government and business.
A$$hole. And if the woman's husband had come on campus and killed her, would the co-worker be at the anti-domestic violence vigil wondering why this had happened to her friend?
The teacher was stupid to say she had a gun on campus, but the co-worker was an idiot, more concerned about the gun than whether her colleague could protect herself.
Meanwhile the Principal in Wissonsin was unavailable for comment because non of his teachers were armed as a deterent to thug student with a gun.
Yeah, that mean-old GUN-FREE SCHOOL ZONE sign sure stopped the kid in Wisconsinstan from popping his principal.
Man I am so mad about this AARRRGGGHHH. I feel like zotting someone.
This is interesting. I've never heard of this.
Do you have any links to more information about this?
That "man" could use a good a**kicking.
It seems the coworker was a HIM according to the reports. What a 'girly man' (apologies to the ladies here at FR).
Her big mistake was confiding in a chickenshit colleague, who, of course, "told".
Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. I am sure sorry this happened to the lady.
I'll bet her .38 special was a S&W AirLite. They weigh 12 ounces unloaded.
After a couple of instances where little girls were nearly abducted from local elementary schools, I asked my ex-wife (an assistant teacher) why the schools didn't have more armed guards.
She said that the school system felt that the presence of armed LEO's would frighten the children. The school officials wanted the children to feel safe.
There you have it, they want them to FEEL safe rather than actually BE safe! Unbelievable.
