It’s one of those works that was written when Hollywood loved America, and we were "Land of the Free, and Home of the Brave."
It will still give you that chill on how great America is, and why we should continue to fight for it.

The Duke always claimed to be Irish. Bob Hope was Welsh, and so was Lincoln.
I'm sure that if they were associated/married to John Wayne, that they were very decent as well as being of Mexican descent. And I'm reasonably sure that the Duke didn't think or refer to them as Mexican-American, Spanish American or any other hyphenated combination, but probably just as American.
But again, exactly why does their descent matter in regards to John Wayne's patriotism and love of America?

All I'm suggesting is perhaps the Duke wouldn't have been all that upset about some people speaking Spanish.
