FLORIDA NEEDS TAX RELIEF
TAMPA, FL Congresswoman Katherine Harris, the Republican candidate for United States Senate launched a targeted effort this morning to inform Florida voters of how Bill Nelson has worked against tax relief for our families and businesses. Standing in front of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, Katherine Harris reminds voters that she is the only candidate in this race who will fight to reduce taxes and government spending so that people can keep more of their hard-earned money.
My opponent has voted against tax cuts time and time again, opting to funnel more of our wages to a bloated federal government. When I am Floridas next U.S. Senator, I will vote to cut taxes and confront wasteful spending through a fair tax system.
Bill Nelson has a record of preventing income taxes from being lowered, he has voted against marriage penalty tax relief, and he has earned the title Enemy of the Taxpayer by the National Taxpayers Union. Our opponent has even voted against tax credits for small business owners to purchase health insurance for their employees and against legislation aimed at eliminating the onerous tax on Social Security.
Katherine Harris, the Republican Candidate for the United States Senate, currently serves as the Representative for Floridas 13th Congressional District. After receiving a Masters in Public Policy from Harvards Kennedy School of Government, she continued a distinguished career in public service to her native state that began in the State Senate and as Floridas last elected Secretary of State. She resides in Longboat Key with her husband Anders Ebbeson and his 24-year-old daughter, Louise along with the constituents of District thirteen.

How exactly did Harris being in the race keep others out?
The only qualifications to run for Senate are that one must be a US citizen at least 30 years of age. My copy of the Constitution left out the part that says others can't run if Katherine Harris is in the race.
Harris had three competitors.
The admiral adocates easing tensions with cuba. A non-starter in Miami.
One other was a typical lawyer politician. yawn.
Nobody screamed hanging chads or deleted e-votes. The primary is done.
The Rovian analysis is to keep away from the 2000 election reminders. She is on her own. In the end, ALL candidates are on their own.
I just hope this is not a Paula Hawkins repeat.
Oh, I know she had competitors. I voted for her in the primary and will do the same in the general. My litmus test in the primary is always, "Who's the most conservative?" My litmus test in the general is always, "Who's the Republican?"
My reply was to a FReeper who was implying that since Harris was in the race, no one else could run. A ridiculous statement.
Who's Paula Hawkins? I'm a relative Florida newbie.
Bravo! This is exactly what she needs to do. Let voters know about Nelson's record and what she would do differently.
WOW!
Today's most "intelligent" quote from a FReeper LOSER!!
Waiting for you next "golden" spew!!!
To: S-D-GOP = "Sounding Grand Old Party???"
Go and get a life or move back to DU!
President Bush and Governor Bush Endorse Harris
Friday, September 22, 2006
TAMPA As proof of growing support for Congresswoman Katherine Harris, she received a warm endorsement from President George W. Bush at two events yesterday, in Tampa and Orlando. President Bush stated that he was proud to be at the Tampa event with Congresswoman Katherine Harris, and later in the day, Governor Jeb Bush offered his support once again.
Yesterday at the Orlando event, President Bush stated, I, too, encourage you to vote for Katherine Harris for the United States Senate.

Julie, if you want any of these let me know. I just ordered 300 and they will be delivered on monday. The bumper sticker is courtesy of Rush Limbaugh.
Hawkins ran against Bob Grahm and lost by a comfortable margin.
Much like Graham, Nelson has his own machine that can function independent of any Democrat conections or financing.
We have to be honest and face facts. Nelson is VERY well seated and has the option of phoning in this race from a vaction spot in the bahamas. It is his to loose.
That said, Harris has 30 days to do SOMETHING DRAMATIC.
Absent a hail marry pass, I don't see how she can shift votes.
Pehaps as a member of the MAJORITY she can say she can do more for social security than Nelson as a member of the minority out of power party.
Here's some relief from you.
she may be doing the right thing but I only see news about her here on FR.
There is no MSM coverage of her.
only nelson interviews about the war.
It is as if she does not exist.
She REALLY needs to put her voice out there and go for the jugular.
STUFF IT.
Get lost.
Ahhh, harris nuts. You guys remind me of alan keyes fans.
OK, I'm a Harris nut.
Who do you support? Nelson?
Anyone who would have a better chance at winning the race could have easily defeated her in the primary...
She has no chance of winning but she got 50% of the vote against 3 clowns running against her in the primary.
You're an idiot, period.
Yeah it does! If you look closely in Article II, Section III, it's there I tell ya! < /S >
Her tax promises are too vague. Boortz said she won't sign onto the 'Fair Tax'. Has she said why?
