Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean came to Austin Tuesday to rally Democrats.
"We are going to take back Texas. And we're going to do it before we take back other states we've lost the last 15-20 years," Dean said during the rally.
The former Presidential candidate fired up the troops at Scholz Garten in downtown Austin.
Dean predicts statewide and nationally Democrats will make big gains in November. He says between the war in Iraq and deficit, the Republicans have taken the country in the wrong direction.
Just one question, Dr. Dean: Exactly WHAT direction would that be?:
"There's no question that Saddam Hussein is a threat to the United States and to our allies." - Howard Dean 9/29/02
"Saddam Hussein was never a threat to the United States." - Howard Dean 6/29/05
"Beer Hall Putz", I like that one!
There are some conservatives in Austin, and I'm proud to be one of them. Scholz Garten is a very historic place. August Scholz founded the garten and was a confederate veteran. Go here for more info: http://www.scholzgarten.net/
Just because it was infected with captain num nutz for a few hours does not mean I will stay away. Scholz is a small place...if that was the biggest crowd he could draw then the dummies are in real trouble.
As for Texas being taken back by the Dummies- in your dreams!
Oh yeah? Think I'll get me a Sore/Loserman sticker...
I lived there in 1973. You are dead-on!
LLS
I knew he was smokin' something...
smart move going to austin - home to all the rejects, old hippies, and potheads. my donkey has more brains than all austinites put together. HEEEEEEEYYAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
ps. apologies to my cousin roberta - even though she hasn't the sense to leave the damned place!
Could not have been very many people there either.
What capacity 450?
"Scholz is a small place...if that was the biggest crowd he could draw then the dummies are in real trouble."
The secret to making a small crowd look big is show that they "fill the room" (and the frame in a picture).
Interesting the KEYE story does not mention how many people attended!
Inside Scholz' could maybe hold 200 to 250 people comfortably. Anymore than that and it would be like a crowded 6th Street bar. There is room outside, but hey, Howie doesn't seem like the outdoor type.
A quick search of the Austin American-Statesrag and other Austin TV stations, turns up nothing on Howard Dean. Maybe only KEYE (owned by CBS) found it worth reporting.
Drudge must have had to dig hard to find the story!
Howie Dean and his ilk couldn't take a lemonade stand from a pair of four year old girls.
HA!! HA!! That would be great here!!
Actually, Dean was working a concession and yelled "PEA-NUTS" and the damn fools nearly flooded the place.
I get breaking news and other updates from the Austin paper, and not a peep about today. Must have been a really small crowd, or they would have sent an automatic email.
Ja, und ein sehr grosses an dem
I'll have to look for some others.
Ja und ein brennendes Arschloch daran!

Haven't found the Sore/Loserman yet...but the Kerry ones in here are GREAT!
Sigh.. Thanks for the link. Blocked from work, so I'll send the link home.
