Mitt Romney lies about abortion
Red State ^

Posted on 09/27/2006 11:07:20 AM PDT by SDGOP

In his latest interview with RedState, Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney responds to a question about his abortion position by saying that he's never adopted the label "pro-choice."

That's all well and good. Mitt Romney wants to be called pro-life. I'd like to be the King of all Londinium and wear a shiny hat.

But let's not kid ourselves: there is no substantive difference between the position labeled "pro-choice," declaring your support for "the right to choose." And that is something that Mitt Romney has done repeatedly over the course of his political career. To say otherwise is to tell a lie.

"tailhook", refers to an incident that occurred at a hotel where several cadets sexually harrassed a female officer. Top Brass tried to cover it up (some were there), and the whole thing blew up into a "scandal" exposing many in the military as having sexist behavior.

I think that summarizes it?!?

Go Back to 1998 and read all the postings from anti-Bush freepers. Hell, I was one of them. Lots of "I will stay home or write in a name" claims were made. Lots of articles about Dubya's cocaine use. It really caused quite a rift. Jim Robinson himself had many harsh judgments of Bush.

Bluster and fluster 2 years out regarding viewpoints that are proclaimed to be "deal killers" won't matter a whole lot on election day 2008. When the Democrat party chooses a nominee the enemy will have a face. And a record. And a scary philosophy. Regardless of what we are saying now, most of us will coalesce with the Republican nominee. Given the choice between "sick" (weak republican) and "dead" (socialist dem), most freepers will choose "sick". A dead man has no hope.

But we have mountains of threats, hysterics, tantrums, and trashing in front of us before we reach that point. And it matters now because it will influence to some degree the nominee we choose. But it will not matter much once the nominee is named.

Well he doesn't have to say abortion is murder. The last thing I read was that he said he opposed Roe v. Wade and thinks the states should decide whether abortion is legal in each state. Clearly he has some explaining to do and he needs to have a credible explanation for changing his mind.

"every Mormon I know has better character than the god he worships. They don't approve of defiling betrothed virgins, even tho their deity is reputed to have had carnal knowledge of teh preveiousl=virgin Mary to beget Jesus!"

That is a LIE. We Mormons belive Christ was born of a virgin.

If allen is attacking webb for defending the coverup or prosecution of sexual harassment what is wrong with that? (I'm just trying to understand the other sides POV here)

So do you have a history of trashing any and all potential GOP candidates? If not, your assignment is to say five postitive things about Romney in one post. Unquestionably, Romeny is extremely bright and a very capable chief executive.

Frist is a big boy and naysayers on FR won't deter him.

He has one of the most important assets: a huge bank account.

He also is the author of the senatorial victories in the last 2 (3) election cycles....lots of junior republican senators owe him.

He's extremely bright and a quick study. We'll see when the dust settles.

"Let me ask you this: is your sole reason to be at this web site to trash any and all potential Republican nominees?

Becauset that's sure as hell what your posting history looks like.

I call you a troll."

Or McCain supporters?

That's good, because if Republicans lose, and Dems win..that pretty much means that eventually the Islamofascists will take over this country. Then at least you'll get your wish, because I guarantee there will be no abortions in this country.

I thinlk Romney is more conservative than people realize. He gets a bad rap on Free Republic largely, I believe, because he's the Governor of Massachusetts. People wrongly see him as a RINO.

He has fought an overwhelming Democratic Legislation and has been one of the few Governors out infront of the gay marriage ban, stem cell research, liberal activist judges and other social issue near and dear to conservatives. He has also been a strong supporter of GWB.

If he is guilty of anything - he may have moderated his positions to get elected in MA. He is conservative and when people see/hear him I think they will be impressed.

"When he ran for office against kennedy he was pro choice, pro gay rights(wanted to be a leader on this issue, even moreso than kennedy), pro aff action, pro civil unions, pro quotas in the work place, pro gun control. On top of that he urinated on national republicans, the contract with america, reagan and bush."

Can you back up each and everyone of these accusations?

Yawn. Fear does not motivate me to vote for pro-abortion Republicans. Sorry.

That said, the choice between Islamofascist killers and hedonistic liberal baby killers is not difficult. I choose neither and I find the notion that I must choose one or the other to be repugnant.

Well are you a paid poster or not? Are you here to trash all GOP candidates? You're awfully quiet about this question.
