DALLAS - Terrell Owens was taken to the emergency room for an undisclosed reason Tuesday night, and doctors treating the Dallas Cowboys receiver were trying to induce vomiting, according to a television report.
too bad our athletes can't have enough brains not to do these kinds of things to their bodies.
No heroes in this country when that happens. ONly users and pushers
Could be, I read it to say he took he last 2 of 7. I see Drudge now has the suicide story.
Humbly suggest that the WFAA report be appended onto the lead. It might keep the duplicate threads from popping up.
The mods went and stuck this in Breaking News, to stop all the repeat threads I suspect.
I don't think so. That happened in prison
Wow, I just got out of my car and the local sports radio station is still reporting that he had an allergic reaction to pain medication. I thought that sounded odd. I imagine that a professional football player is accustomed to taking all sorts of pain meds and pretty much knows what he can and cannot take. If this report about a suicide attempt is true, it's truly sad. I hope is recovers and gets some professional help. Depression is a terrible thing, and I don't wish it on anyone.
And then some!
He must have taken many of the painkillers or they wouldnt have tried to induce vommiting over just a few, nor would most people OD on a few painkillers.
Not everyone commits suicide for the selfish reasons. There's a subset that is really mentally ill and deserves our empathy. Not saying T.O. is one of those, but we have no way of knowing at this point. In any event, prayers that he pulls through.
I saw a special on TO that talked about what a difficult childhood he had-- raised by his grandmother. He had to go to bed at 7 every night and couldn't play with other kids and such. He was a total introvert until much later in his adult life (when he made that big catch against the Packers, IIRC). It's easy to see how he could be screwed up in the head.
I agree, this is no stunt. The pressure was too much imo.
Donovan McNabb, who was a big whiner who jumped on the anti-Rush racist bandwagon with the ESPN TV crew.
A total lie.
Terrel Owens is a cancer. McNabb is a FAR better person, role model.
I would hate to be under the pressure of making millions of dollars to play a game.....I understand it's relative but I am constantly amazed at the total stupidity of professional athletes who cry and bitch and moan about playing a game for a living. I would have killed to have that kind of talent and these clowns piss it away. Damn waste....
ESPN has the story now and is reporting they have confirmed it WAS A SUICIDE ATTEMPT according to police reports.
This will be covered up and explained away. "America's Team" would be harmed if it is not.
Found it on their website too:
