CONDI VS. BUBBA . . .(Berger stolen papers revealed?)
NY Post ^ | 9/26/06 | Editorial

Posted on 09/26/2006 6:08:31 AM PDT by teddyballgame

In fact, a 1999 Clarke after-action memo - the one top Clinton aide Sandy Berger later stole from the National Archives - identified national-security weaknesses so "glaring" that only sheer "luck" prevented a cataclysmic attack back then.

And, as Clarke told the 9/11 Commission publicly, there was nothing the Bush administration could have done that would have prevented the attacks.

Sure, he tells a different story now. But that, he admitted, is because of his opposition to the Iraq war, which he believes distracted from the War on Terror.

Secretary Rice was a lot more honest, explaining yesterday that there was no full-scale War on Terror "the way that we're fighting it now" - by either administration - before 9/11: "We just weren't organized as a country, either domestically or as a leader internationally."

None of this is surprising...especially the part about Condi being more "honest".

NOTHING in this editorial will ever be repeated on The Sunday Shows, any Evening Newscast or any mainstream newspaper. Clinton's screw ups NEVER HAPPENED.

"'Why did you fire Dick Clarke,"..

Because he was spending to much time trying to resurrect his American Bandstand show?

It goes further back than 25 years. Specifically Jimmy Carter.

Naww, it was a hair thing. Duby and Cheney were jealous of his hair.

The most amazing thing from that article was that Berger admitted to destroying the papers in preparation for the testimony.

After his court appearance, Berger told reporters that he "exercised poor judgement" and "deeply regretted it." He said his motivation was to help himself and others prepare for their appearance before the commission probing the events surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

So there was no connection between Saddam and Usama, right. If I was thinking of moving in with my daughter, I'd probably tell her first.

Before the advent of the "new" media that would have been the case. No longer.

I have delicious visions of Condi stomping on slick willie's instep with her high heeled boot.

Thanks for that poignant reminder. I still find it amazing that the MSM/DBM have all but ignored this story & still quote Sandy Berger as if his opinion is relevant about anything.

Just think of all the 'stans' that cooperated with our military. Using their bases, allowing us to flyover their territory, to say nothing of Mushareff openly acting on our behalf at great GREAT risk to himself and his rule.

Whatever Pakistan is doing behind the scenes, we could never have accomplished so much without Pakistan.

No need for papers like that to be stolen. It was all public information.

I suspect that it was the analysis of our weakness and inaction in the fact of all the terror attacks that happened before 9/11.

Clinton effectively slept through it all - and now he's trying to rewrite history.

Bullseye! The more this is discussed, the more exposed he becomes. Shrillary must be one pissed off wench this week.

Thanks for the detailed response. I thought the papers had something to do with the terror plot for Millenium project. I hadn't realized that the papers focused that much on the glaring defficiencies of the Clinton Admin.

Has Dick Clark ever gone on record about Berger's stolen documents?

Clinton can't take difficult hardball questions. The world was his oyster when he and his "staff" could orchestrate everything and eliminate anyone who crossed them with threats and/or arrest. He isn't used to being crossed. He looked like he wanted to physically attack Wallace, so perhaps he needs a big old can of Ignore the Clintons opened on him and to be relegated to the back burner of the attention stove - along with Hillary. If his Presidency was a disASSter, hers would be a catASStrophe, probably starting right away with the massive voter fraud it would take to elect her.

Never underestimate the Clinton spin team and the MSM's tendency to buy into it. (Clinton spin = outright lies)
