And don't forget "well-drawn," something missing in most comics today. Most of today's comic "artists" slap together panels that look like they were drawn by a chimpanzee.

The TV version is actually funny, but is definitely adult oriented. Every side gets their fare share of bashing.

I wonder what Bill Waterson is up to these days...
I think the US could use another jolt of Calvin.

Hard to pull off the detail these days with the cost of printing and smaller panels...
But I loved this cartoon in it's time.
My family is 8 generations West Virginia folk
and to us it was a scream,
too bad people have such a hard time
laughing at themselves these days...

How will the comics fulfill it's "mean-spirited racist claptrap quotient" now? Wait until you see the latest re-working of Peanuts... Snoopy's gonna get biz-zeh!

I hear he paints, but since he doesn't give interviews who really knows?
Whatever he's doing it's what he really wants to do.

Good riddance to bad rubbish! I was so glad when our local rag got rid of this racist screed. The comic page is a wasteland -- not what I remember as a kid growing up in the 50's!

How will the comics fulfill it's "mean-spirited racist claptrap quotient" now? Perhaps they can send Jesse Jackson to art school.

The distribution syndicate is advertising for a vacancy in its cartoon lineup. They are looking for something similar to Boondocks. The ad reads:
"Cartoon must deal with current events. Must also be a complete ripoff of Bloom County (artwork, lots of shouting, 'pause' panels) with a smaller cast. Finally, must display a complete lack of humor."
