September 25, 2006 -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Bill Clinton of making "flatly false" claims that the Bush administration didn't lift a finger to stop terrorism before the 9/11 attacks. Rice hammered Clinton, who leveled his charges in a contentious weekend interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Channel, for his claims that the Bush administration "did not try" to kill Osama bin Laden in the eight months they controlled the White House before the Sept. 11 attacks.
"The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there and didn't do that is just flatly false - and I think the 9/11 commission understood that," Rice said during a wide-ranging meeting with Post editors and reporters.
"What we did in the eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton

Good morning!
The plane went down on April 1 and the crew was released on April 11, if I remember correctly. I also remember Jesse Jackson volunteering to negotiate the release because Bush and Powell were not considered up to the job according to the media. Not up to it, until the crew was released and then the media went silent on it all.

The mere fact that Clinton's cocaine damaged nose turned red, and him pointing his finger, was a dead giveaway that he was lying.
I wonder what Colin Powell, who was the head of Dept. of State at that time, has to say about being accused of doing nothing to stop 9/11 from happening? Any news organization ask him nay questions, and if not, why not?

I can't do the cheese and cracker thing. But I do remember that Clinton hadn't even finished his cabinet by August. Let alone the under secretaries and other bureaucrats.

I get so sick of going over this same ground over and over. Mary Matelin said it best last night. We should be talking about the future, So, why do the dems want to stay stuck in the past? Does it remind them of their glory days before Floriduh, or what? The whole thing is ludicrous, Clinton is trying to deny every accomplishment of the Bush administration in the last five years by focusing on the first 8 months and then saying he tried harder, like Avis. Georger Lakeoff must have spent many sleepless nights coming up with that.

What these libs do is as follows:
They parrot the liberal line and the media picks it up and makes the Bush administration look guilty. After their 15 minutes are up, they change their stories to cleanse themselves of the lie. The media picks up nothing.

I was in a New York hotel the morning that the flight leaving JFK blew apart. I couldn't sleep as I usually can't sleep in hotels and so I was watching TV. The local stations interviewed numerous residents who all said the same thing. A missile came up from the ground in a stream of light. Hit the plane which exploded and broke in half.
By the middle of the day the story was only that there was an explosion. The stream of light going up had disappeared.

Wow, so glad I overslept this morning and missed Tiki!
He's a political naif!
However, I assume that he would not want to jeopardise his future since he is probably going to be leaving football after this season and will be looking for a full time job in communication.

I'll do you one better.
How come for the eight years that Clinton was President, most records of terrorist attacks against US interests either went missing or were dismissed as random acts of violence that required police action?
If I was in the media, I'd surely want to know.

Gail Norton was also held up IIIRC.
Also, just in making an observation, the claim by slick that he ordered plans for an invasion or mlitary action against Afghanistan are a bald faced lie. After 9-11 the Pentagon was scrambling to find and then update whatever military "plans" it had on that small country.
Meaning the general plans that the Pentagon keeps on every country on the planet should the need arise for actions to be taken there.

Sorry for the misstatement of date. Just goes to show you that memory can play tricks.
Maybe I thought it was March because we had a cold April that year...yeah, that's the ticket! My memory isn't faulty...it was the weather! Ha!

Durbin is doing the talking, so my guess is Rocky.
I was watching Lott too.
OT: Schumer and Durbin to hold presser this morning to call for Negroponte to testify in front of their committee.
