September 25, 2006 -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Bill Clinton of making "flatly false" claims that the Bush administration didn't lift a finger to stop terrorism before the 9/11 attacks. Rice hammered Clinton, who leveled his charges in a contentious weekend interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Channel, for his claims that the Bush administration "did not try" to kill Osama bin Laden in the eight months they controlled the White House before the Sept. 11 attacks.
"The notion somehow for eight months the Bush administration sat there and didn't do that is just flatly false - and I think the 9/11 commission understood that," Rice said during a wide-ranging meeting with Post editors and reporters.
"What we did in the eight months was at least as aggressive as what the Clinton

Good point about the China plane incident. It consumed almost all of March.
It's ultimately sad, but it has to include them. They are so immature that they truly believed that they were entitled to the Presidency. When they lost it, the GOP became their enemy number one amongst all foreign or domestic. Not even the deaths of thousands of Americans could dissuade them from that notion.
Not surprising though, in their political ideology, deaths of "the people" are sometimes necessary, and nothing more than a useful statistic. Individuality doesn't really matter, not compared to the sum of the state.
In his most condescending statements, he said, "... that little ABC movie..." and "... that little smirk on your face..."
That's just Bill trying to point out to the world how big he is...
Gotta consider that Bush's transition was delayed by the Dem election challenge, and then by Dem obstruction of his appointees, and even then he had only 8 months to do anything. They were in the process of formulating a plan to attack al Qaeda when 911 occurred.
The only transition from the toon to the Bush Admin was taking the "W"'s from the keyboards and the Beast taking all the silverware and furniture.
The toons are the epitome of trailer trash.
I hope this is a preview of the fall elections because they key difference between democrats and republicans is exactly what Condi is saying. The dems blame america, the pubbies blame the terrorists. There could not be a more simple way to state it. This should be the key message of republican candidates. Prosecute the terrorists like Bush wants, or prosecute Rummy/Bush/Cheney, et al, like the democrats want.

Dick Morris said that if he talked with Clinton about the distribution of wealth, that Clinton could talk about it for hours. If the subject was about terrorism, Clinton would just grunt. He didn't want to have to deal with it.
