Friends,
At the request of the family it is my sad duty to report the passing of our founder, Jeff Cooper. Jeff died peacefully at home this afternoon while being cared for by his wife Janelle and daughter Lindy.
There will be a private internment at Gunsite by invitation, with a public memorial service at the Whittington Center at a date to be announced.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
DVC,
Ed

Fyi..
Rest in peace.
A true legend and a fine gentleman. His essays guided me even when I disagreed. His breadth and depth of firearms knowledge was breathtaking. I am truly saddened that this man has left us.
America lost one of the good guys today.
RIP Jeff Cooper. God bless.
RIP, Colonel Cooper. Guard the streets of Heaven well.
Such a shame, Colonel Cooper will be sorely missed.
Prayers for his family.

Prayers for his family, and thanks to God for Jeff. He did a wonderful job, and has changed the world for the better.
Rest in Peace, Jeff...
RIP to the Gunner's Guru.

Just Damn...
RIP Colonel Cooper.

What a class-act the Col. was.
Aside from his bountiful knowledge, he was articulate and jocular in a way that was fun like Buckley. I'll miss the "editorial we". RIP, soldier. Well done.
Rest In Peace, Colonel Cooper.
May you ride, shoot straight, and always speak the truth at the right hand of the ALMIGHTY!
RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY
RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT LIES BEYOND
From my (very limited) knowledge of the man, he will.
I gather not only was he a master at his craft, a great teacher and exponent of rigorous quality in the field he championed, he was also, apparently, a fine human being.
Prayers for his family. He has found his reward.
We all who live, also die, but some live more significantly than others and Col Jeff was one of those. RIP
Jeff Cooper=GREAT AMERICAN,RIP MY MAN!
RIP, Mr. Cooper.
