BLABBERMOUTH; MCG MIGHT BE 'BOOKED' (gay gov's tell-all on Dim corruption grounds for indictment)
NY POST ^ | September 25, 2006 | JEANE MacINTOSH

Posted on 09/25/2006 6:05:07 AM PDT by Liz

Jim McGreevey may have blabbed too much in his tell-all autobiography - and not just about his sex life......the gay former gov's confessions about NJ's notorious "pay-to-play" politics and his ties to a parade of corrupt power players could get him criminally prosecuted.......

Ed Stier, a former federal and New Jersey state prosecutor told The Post..... "McGreevey's book may inadvertently supply enough information - to suggest that an already-closed investigation be reopened or expanded" ....McGreevey describes political patronage as "the coin of the realm" in NJ, a "form of sanctioned bribery" .......citing land deals and board appointments as examples of sought-after paybacks.

Aside from McGreevey's politically fatal move of putting his lover Golan Cipel in a top homeland-security post, his administration had "a history of brushes with corrupt situations," Stier said......"It's not inconceivable that McGreevey has [put forth] enough information to get him prosecuted as a co-conspirator."

Good - I was beginning to think that McGreevey's bait-and-switch tactic had fooled everybody.

He wants people to be distracted by the lurid details of his sexual exploits and to ignore the important stuff: that he bought and sold influence and offices throughout NJ in exchange for cash and only occasionally for carnal favors.

Just cause it's in a book, doesn't mean it's totally true. I'm sure embellishments were well placed...........gotta sell them books y'know!........

Putting ManGravy behind bars will have to be done carefully. To really punish him, put him in a women's prison.

McGreevey being on TV yapping about being gay has WON some seats for us. Even stupid Oprah watchers had to be grossed out.

Of course any prosecution of McGreevey will just be met with screams of discrimination and homophobia.

Little story.

My wife was from McGreevey's town and as a reporter and later an employee with the state my wife knew McGreevey was a bit light in the loafers. When McGreevey was elected, my wife said that this will eventually come out in the press.

Her one article on this early in Mc's administratation was spiked by the editors because they said she was making allegations that weren't true. She told them she grew up with him and knew this to be true and irrefutable.

Well, on the day of his outing, I was listening to Hannity and heard the presser. I got on the phone with my wife and screamed, HE'S A FAG!!!!

My wife merely said, "No Sh*t" and hung up.

As a resident of New Jersey it gives me great pain to ask this, but will it really matter in New Jersey?

As a fellow resident of Jersey, I share your pain when I have to answer NO.

Not being a Jersey native, the politics in this place astound me...

To confirm gay activities----just ask the local cops who patrol the streets. They know the places where gays congregate, and they know who goes in and out of gay bars, baths, and such.

Good. The only reason for this revolting tell all was to try to thwart a sexual harassment suit ("We were lovers, it was mutual".) The excessive and disgusting detail was a ploy, imo, to make it seem more credible. ("Who would ever write this stuff if it wasn;t true?") So GLAAD this blew (ahem) up in his face. This guy is as Machiavellian as they, uh, come.
