In short, Clinton and crew would rather have us forget everything they did (and didn't do), and have history begin on January 20, 2001, when his successor took office.

They'd also like us to forget
1. that Bush's transition into office was delayed by Gore's challenge;
2. that Democrats trashed the White House;
3. that Democrats aggressively smeared Bush's cabinet choices like Ashcroft;
4. that Democrats retook the Senate after a long campaign, that began in 2000, to woo Jeffords away from the GOP.
5. That the Democrats undermined the Presidency by repeating the lie that Bush was "President-select."

Clinton's "opposition from the right wing," pales by comparison to the opposition that Bush encountered.
