I may be wrong, but I thought the U.S. had refused let Cat Stevens back into the country a couple of years ago.
And, didn't he sing "War, what is it good for?"
"In the News/Activism forum, on a thread titled Cat Stevens criticizes pope over Islam comments, bitt wrote:
"Oh, I'm bein' followed by a shoe bomber, shoe bomber, shoe bomber"
"Leapin and hoppin' on a shoe bomber, shoe bomber, shoe bomber" "
bitt, that comment is hilarious! I am laughing so hard I can barely type!!!
He did a song called "Peace Train" back in the 70's.
I won't buy his album. I hope sales will be pathetic......
The "Religion of Peace Train" ?
I was so proud when the US denied him entry into the US after 9/11.
That's right. I was going to say that, too, but then thought I might read the thread first for once.
Nah. - Edwin Starr - and The Temptations tried it, as well.
This from the guy that agrees with the Fatwa on Salman Rushdie.
I have heard lots of Baptist minister bashing the Pope before.. big deal
I read an article on him years ago (about 20-25 plus years ago) when he first converted to the death cult. What happened was he was swimming in the ocean, I forget which, and he was pulled out by the undercurrent and almost drowned. He said what saved him was he kept praying to God that if God let him live he would devote the rest of his life to serving him. He eventually reached shore and from then on he kept his promise. What baffles me is why he chose Islam which to me is probably the most anti-life religion on this planet. It`s sort of like promising someone that if they save your life, you will promote death! I mean really, think about it. When Salaman Rushdie had that Fatwah on his head, this idiot was front and center saying Salaman should be killed. He also called Saddam Hussien "his brother"..The Stalin of the middle east, the guy who collected mass graves to pass the time is "a brother"!!! This is how he repays a second chance at life? By supporting the detah of others? This guy needs a nice swift kick upside his head and then some. Just because he lived he supports the death of others, but of course that is the religion of the death cult for you and I thank God we have a Pope who isn`t afraid to speak the truth although I sincerely regret he apologized.
That doctrine is SO misunderstood. It doesn't cover every statement a Pope makes about anything. The doctrine only applies to a Church teaching that the Pope is promulgating in conjunction with the Cardinals and Bishops of the Church, or in other words, the Magesterium.
But just because the Pope's comments at Regensburg were not an infallible statement, doesn't mean they weren't still the truth.
Sounds like that Catholic school didn't teach Cat very well.
Oh my yes, I'd believe cat islam yusef over the Pope when it comes to fallibilty /sarc
The Pope is a human creature. Therefore, he is a sinner and fallible. It would be bad for Roman Catholics to think otherwise.
As a human person, making personal statements, this is true. Infallibility refers to the OFFICE of the Papacy when teaching a doctrine of the faith only with the guidance of the Holy Spirit AND in conjunction with the Magesterium of the Church. It is not a personal trait, but one of the Seat of Peter.
If Gandhi had such a high regard for Islam, why didn't he have a hunger strike to keep Indian united after the Brits left? India had to be divided up with two Pakistans on either side because of the inevitable bloodbath that followed independence. The proof is in the puddin'. Poor Cat - he put on his moronski blinders when he joined the Religion of Submission.
Very good.
