Bill Clinton: We Did Nothing Wrong
Despite his impeachment, Gennifer Flowers, Whitewater and the other problems that have beset Bill Clintons political career, the former president still maintains he did nothing wrong.
During a wide-ranging interview with David Remnick of The New Yorker magazine excerpted earlier on NewsMax.com Clinton started to talk about Whitewater, about Kenneth Starr, about how allowing the appointment of a special prosecutor had been the worst decision of his presidency, Remnick writes.
He talked about old enemies in Arkansas, about the Resolution Trust Corporation, about Gennifer Flowers, about Susan Schmidt of the Washington Post. Despite Clintons claims he is not looking back, you could see just how deeply he still feels the attacks of the late 90s, Remnick disclosed. He noted Clintons anger is palpable as his carotid artery seemed to inflate like a jammed garden hose as these topics were discussed.
But when asked if he thought it would be unbearable to go through all of it again if Hillary ran for president in 2008, Clinton replied: I dont care, because we know we did nothing wrong.
Surprisingly some of Clintons closest supporters think he has more to blame than the so-called Clinton haters.
Remnick quoted one of Clintons closest aides, former Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, regarding Clintons state of denial:
The method he uses to live with himself is to make a clear and precise argument that this was something that others had done to him and not that he had done to himself.
Because of his brainpower, he can create a logic for anything.
But deep down he would be such a good person if he could just accept the fact that he screwed up and made mistakes, and move on.
That was the M.I.A. campaign. Bush phoned it in.
I had never seen such a thing and it led me to think he was being blackmailed.
I'll will say this. The media proped Clinton up in ways I'd also never seen before.
From Carson to Sixty minutes to the morning shows to flattering profiles, the guy should have popped he was so over-inflated.
Clinton made a fool of himself today. Nothing else matters.
Because of his brainpower, he can create a logic for anything."
That has got to be one of the stupider statements ever made.
Interesting. Somebody came up with that phrase as a talking point - - a canned answer to charges that the Clinton Administration screwed up in recognizing the terror threat... Last summer, according to Congressman Curt Weldon, Jamie Gorelick called his office and stated essentially the exact same phrase: "I did nothing wrong." That's a quote. Creepy.
Me three and I'm a woman!
Just to clarify, that was around the time (last summer) that the 'Able Danger' program was revealed along with the fact that the laughingstock '9/11 Commission' was involved in coverups on numerous levels. Obviously, Gorelick was either feeling guilty about her role in enabling the 9/11 terror attacks or afraid that her role would be more thoroughly investigated and revealed. But it was at that time that Gorelick, out of the blue!, called Curt Weldon's office.
Well, I was only nine, but when you throw in the press' "Camelot" hokem yokem, it's not hard to tell where that lead. When I was a kid, I heard the women talking about Kennedy. It was the one time in my life when I got to hear them talk unfiltered. LOL
I've got a piece of toilet paper means more to me than freakin' Bill Clinton. LOOOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pitiful, isn't it? Read my lips, no new taxes. The media whipped people into a frenzy because Bush reneged on taxes. He caved to the DEMwits. People called him a liar. Because he caved, a lot of people voted for Perot and threw the race to Clinton. Clinton was incapable of telling the truth and won reelection.
Personally, I think the downhill spiral began when Bush threw up on the Japanese guy. The news played it over and over and over. People just don't want to see the President--or anyone-- ill. After having fantastic poll numbers, Bush suddenly looked weak. The media and the DEMS pounced. Bush seemed tired. Clinton was energetic. Add Perot to the mix. The result was the frat house presidency.
ASHCROFT"
You mean the John Ashcroft who was still a Senator during the Clinton administration? Someone unzipped hell and let the bats out. The contents of the 'rat playbook are obvious.
My, you are getting very 'unique'ie' there! Very neat looking.
I knew you'd like that
How did you know?
I dunno, Jimmah gives him a good run for the money.
I've got a case where the opposing party is a raving lunatic. She firmly believes she has the right to lash out at everyone on her enemies list (and everyone, it seems, is on there), but no one dares has the right to call her on it.
This is the exact same behavior of Bill Clinton. I personally think its a form of mental illness.
You just made and posted a reverse zoom graphic yesterday
Lol, I think I'll make a boxing glove - in a forward zooooooooom!!
"I believe it was something like 70% in 1992. It actually made me question if women were bright enough to have the right to vote."
All I can say is, I never voted for him.
I did vote against him though.
