The Wal-Mart You Don't Know
The giant retailer's low prices often come with a high cost. Wal-Mart's relentless pressure can crush the companies it does business with and force them to send jobs overseas. Are we shopping our way straight to the unemployment line?

I really don't give a crap if Wal-Mart is lefty. It is convenient and cheap.
And K-Mart sucks (clearly others agree...there are only 10 cars in the K-Mart parking lot all the time compared to 100 in Wal-Mart).
Same here!
You too? I thought it was just in my area of the world. When will it stop? Oh, the humanity!

Our liberal Neo-com friends have told us thousands of times in thousands of ways that profit is evil, now they are complaining about too little profit?
So now profit is good, except for a non Democrat, non union company like Wal-Mart?
Umm, this article is 3-1/2 years old
Took you that long to notice?
(yeah, I read it back in 2003 - walmart is the only place I've found w/ woodpecker nut bars and Red Heart Strata yarn. Until some other place carries them, I'll go to Walmart to buy them)
I remember the first time I bought Vlasic pickles, they were on sale and I had a coupon........I never did figure out how they justified their price. I've eaten them since, but rarely buy them.
I had liked Vlasic, and had to specifically look for Mt. Olive brand. I thought "well, this will be a sacrifice to support a company that is doing the right thing..." as I bought them. I was so pleasantly surprised that I found that I no longer understand how I liked Vlasic at one time!
Mt. Olive seems to be a very prominent brand in the supermarkets in this area, I've been buying them for as long as I can remember.
Everytime I read this kind of CRAP I make an extra trip to Walmart and just buy something...
Hey, that's not fair, your not supposed to do research...What are you a Walmart executive or something? (LOL)
Were you able to find Mt. Olive when you were in Delaware?
I first found Mt. Olive when I was in Delaware.......it was cheaper than the store brands :)
I'm retired, and low, low prices is my aim. Walmart is my store.
btt
JC Penney is the other reason we've stayed on budget since 1993.
All I have to say is if you don't like Walmart, don't shop there... I don't... It's generally full of rude people with their kids running crazy and trash everywhere!
BUT.... I believe in their right to exist in a free-market economy.
