On July 1, 1916, 20,000 British troops were killed in the Battle of the Somme. That's ONE day.
That doesn't even count the French and German deaths that day.
And yet people treat trivial conflicts like Israel/Hezbollah as some huge deal.
You have to have a sense of historical perspective.
Relative to population, the depravities and atrocities and loss of life in Germany in the 30 years war in the 1600s was far, far worse than any war or terrrorism going on today; it's said there are parts of Germany that never recovered from that.
I never said the world was TOTALLY peaceful now, just that it's never been MORE peaceful - the world has always been incredibly violent.
But when you look at a world of 5 billion people, it's really striking how generally peaceful it is now, per population, compared to both earlier in the 20th century and even back further.
Of course, today, you can get your news of worldwide violence a lot faster and in technicolor.
I always wondered how FOX new would cover the Gallipoli.
How would CNN cover London, 1666?
It does explain, or at least backup what the poll suggests.
In GENERAL, the rich (a) don't feel the same need for God and faith as the poorer. When faced with lifes difficulties, the rich have the money to deal with it. Those with less means trust in thier faith. It could be argued that our government wants it that way as well. Every bit of currency tell us "In God we trust" suggesting not to trust in the currency itself.
(B) Luke 16: 13
Jesus said, "No servant can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and money.
Seeing Anderson Cooper running around covering the Mongol sack of Baghdad in 1258 might be amusing - death toll estimates run from 90,000 to a million (latter seems a bit high.)
LOL!
It means justice at last for that criminal enterprise known as the Democrat Party.
Gen -X'ers seen to be little heathens.
Do you ever wonder why no one ever answers you? You try to appear so intelligent, when you are clearly, such an idiot.
Mt 24:34 - I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
It will happen in a generation. Ever generation since Christ has had some of the signs, but, we are the only generation since Christ to see the Jews returning to Israel and establishing it as there home land again. Many other prophecys have been or are in the process of being fullfilled. One of them that sticks out in my mind is this one: Da 12:4 - "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
Here's another one: Rev. 11:9 - For three and a half days they'll be there - exposed, prevented from getting a decent burial, stared at by the curious from all over the world. This verse reminds me that everyone all over the world can view news instantly. What generation before us was able to do that? Things are escalating very quickly now.
Don't be sad. Jesus is coming back soon and when He does all of this nonsense and evil will come to an end. Thank God we have something to look forward to.
Why live in a state of perpetual danger when you can live in a state of perpetual joy.
Education and intelligent have little to do with spirituality. The more educated the more money you have, the less likely you are to think you need God.
"And at risk of sounding stupid, they just won't say it."
In church or in public? Because I have heard it all my life in church.
Amen!! Stay close to God, like baby chicks stay close to the mother hen.
We talk about the days coming to a close, but, a new dawn is nearing. He's not just for Sundays =)He's an everyday God.
It is important for people to know that the End Times couldn't have happened before Israel was made a nation again, and that happened in 1948. That's when God's clock started ticking again. He said that He would call His children home once more, and since 1948, Jews have returned to Israel from all over the world.
IMO, that's why the bowels of Hell opened up and spewed forth demons all over the middle east. They have inhabited the Koranimals, and if God doesn't intervene, they will kill all of us. Tick...Tick...Tick....
I think Catholics tend to be amillennial, IIRC.
They would believe that the world ends with a big bang after things get real bad.
I imagine the prophecies about the various Popes might have something to do with Catholic response. I remember when the cardinals were meeting after JPII died that there were a number of articles about "someone's" prophecy that there were only 2 or 3 more Popes left. I wish I could remember more about it.
That would be the prophecies of Saint Malachy.

I wish McLaughlin & Associates had gone out and polled the Islamic Jihadists and asked how many of them believe the stuff I have on my FR homepage.
True, the epistles of Paul and other NT writers implied that the entire Church era which began at Pentecost comprises the last or latter days. But that still means that one of the last days will at some point in time literally be THE actual last day of the Church era.
I believe that many bible prophecies concerning the time and events leading up to the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ are being fulfilled in this era. That isn't to say that I am predicting any specific date, year, or even decade for that event to occur. We have it on the word of no less than an authority than Jesus himself that no one but the Father knows or will know the time of his return.
And I am not referring to doubtful "signs" such as a more frequent occurrence of earthquakes or an increase in the vulture population of the ME region known as Armageddon. I put more importance on the relatively recent and highly improbable reestablishment of Israel as a sovereign nation in it's own God-given land as foretold by several Old Testament prophets, it's very much out of proportion influence on world affairs, it's military prowess compared to it's vastly more populous Arab enemies, and the rapidly growing virulent hatred that so many nations and people all around the globe are showing for Israel and Israelis than on any other factor of the prophetic scenario.
I don't have any theories about America's place in bible prophecy, or if we are even mentioned in prophecy. It seems unlikely that a nation as large and prominent as the US is at this stage in history would be ignored in bible prophecy, which some bible scholars believe may indicate that the US will not be a major player on the world scene when the end time events come to a conclusion. I can only say that I believe that however our Lord chooses to bring this present era to a close with his triumphant return, his choice will be the best of all possible outcomes as far as his Church is concerned, but definitely not for the unbelieving majority of the world's people.
The statistics you showed show a rather weak correlations. Most people with an IQ of over 120 earn at about the same level as most who have an IQ of 100.
This asian IQ crap is a myth. When's the last time asian countries have ever been the leader in the sciences? Maybe during the Ming dynasty...nothing since then. That's why they had to purchase our nuclear secrets and guided missle secrets from Bill Clinton.
