I work in Herndon. All they have to do is shut down the McDonalds, and the illegals will flee.

What is it like over there in Virginia, what I mean is, after that pro-enforcement anti-day labor slate of candidates won a few months ago?

I assume they are now in place and things are happening? (for the good)....

Are those newly elected people keeping their word to rid that town of illegals? Seems like many of them ran on that platform.

I work in Herndon also. It should be renamed "El Herndo". This used to be a nice quiet town in the 1980's. I don't recoginize it now.

I see nothing much different... my condo development still gets overrun by Mexicans every Wednesday, when the landscaping is done.

Since the other poster could not answer me about the current situation, what is it to your knowledge there in Herndon? I though the center there would be long gone now after the elections. Are they keeping their words (the newly elected officials)??

Manassas is even worse: when we moved out in February, we were the last English-speaking family on the block. . . it's ALL Hispanic now. .

LetsRok and YourAdHere, Welcome back to the thread!

Since you two live or work in Herndon, Virginia, can't you report into this thread what the current situation is? Did the voters get the action they wanted this summer when they turned the old Town Council out on this issue? Please give us a heads up if you can, thanks.

Re your post 5, I lived in Reston and Herndon for over 30 years. Reston, particularly, was and is an overly liberal-infested town, but we learned to ignore them. Lived in Herndon until 1997.

Your statement about not recognizing Herndon anymore gives me a bit of the shivers: I got out of there just in time.

But the whole Northern Virginia area is crawling with liberals. I've read that they are transforming Virginia into something approaching a bluish state status.

Anyway, it's good to be away from all that.

Oh, for those who don't know, Reston and Herndon, Virginia are adjacent to each other.

Herndon Town Council passed the proposal overwhelmingly, 6-1. The lone holdout was the single carry-over from the old Mayor/Council group that got tossed out by the voters in May. He would have been fired too except an opponent pulled out for illness.

A year ago the old pro-illegals Town Council was out of touch with the people when they set up a day-labor site and almost made Herndon a sanctuary city. The voters acted and they are gone.

Let this be a lesson to those politicians (especially RINOs) that your job is at risk if you continue on this amnesty nonsense. You are out of touch with the voters.

Follow Herndon's example.

Your web link is out of date.

A lot has changed. The new Council is proceeding in a thoughtful measured pace to turn back the pro-illegals pandering of the previous liberal loonies.

Herndon Police will now work with ICE to enforce immigration law on criminal elements.

They are next scheduled to address day labor and overcrowding.

The rest of America's communities should follow their example, because the Feds ain't going to do nothin'.
