Captured by the British in Boston and hanged as a spy.It occurs to me that persecuting patriots has a very long tradition.

I wish for some help here.
Nathan is regarded as an anti-federalist. Yet he was executed long before the convention, right?

Did I say Boston...I meant New York. From what I remember, Washington was already on the retreat and Nathan was suspected of starting a fire that took out a large section of British occupied NY.

"The government of a nation may be usurped by the forcible intrusion of an individual into the throne. But to conquer its will so as to rest the right on that, the only legitimate basis, requires long acquiescence and cessation of all opposition." --Thomas Jefferson to ----, 1825. ME 16:127
Pretty much sums up where we are now. Where our Schools are now liberal indoctrination centers and our major two political parties have abandoned all principle in the pursuit of ever more power stolen from "We the People".

Nathan Hale's real last words were: "It is fitting to obey one's commanding officer."
