The chairman of the state Democratic Party said yesterday that Republican Kerry Healey has come ``perilously close to race baiting" by raising immigration issues in the campaign for governor, a remark that prompted Democratic nominee Deval Patrick to distance himself from his own party's chairman.

Healey's campaign demanded that Patrick seek the resignation of Democratic Party chairman Philip Johnston over the remarks. Patrick refused, but said, ``Phil Johnston speaks for himself."

Healey has highlighted her stance on illegal immigrants, including her opposition to driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and her support for photo identification cards for voting.

Translation: IOW, when you don't have a logical, RATional response to a security-based issue, play the race card!!

Howie Carr said the Democrats would start using the racist accusations. It didn't take them long. It proves they are desperate.

So now in Massachisetts a politician cant speak on immigration??? Because its racial??

No wonder they elect Kerry, Kennedy, and Barney Franks. The whole state is bannana's.

Deval will be a disaster. A left wing Dem, with a Dem dominated legislature, who wants to raise taxes for his vague programs, give illegals driver's licenses and in-state tuition. And, in MA, he's got a very good chance of being elected.

Before those of you outside the state sound off, remember that for the most part its a tight circle about 30 miles around Boston that has the moonbat population and the press, and drags the rest of the State along with it. The rest of us don't deserve it.

My condolences. :( Patrick is also known as a big supporter of quotas and racial preferences, is he not? Just what America does NOT need if we are ever to be united and colorblind.

What impact might the independent have in this race? I wondered if he is another Perot. I don't know if he is supposed to lean left, right, or some other direction.

REPUBLICANS can't speak about immigration, only democrats. And they speak about how they're going to give the illegals driver's licenses, in-state tuition and the vote.
