Harkin defends Venezuelan President's U-N speech against Bush
by Darwin Danielson
Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, a democrat, today defended Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's United Nations speech in which Chavez called President George Bush the devil. Harkin said the comments were "incendiary", then went on to say, "Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies." Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president's foreign policy.
Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush's actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was "unnecessary."
Harkin says, "We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that." Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.
will do
Its amazing how people will accept any thing of value no matter the source or the consequences. They probably know the Chavez isn't doing this because to show his generosity, but for headlines. To many money is money no matter how dirty it is or what what cesspool it comes from..
It's hard to tell from this picture which of the three wants to have sex with Daniel Ortega the most. But it looks like Ortega only has eyes for John Kerry. He's heard all the stories...
One thing is for sure, Harkin has given amo to the GOP in many advertisments.
Even the minority leader in the House realized the mistake of supporting this madman and called him a thug before the next set of overnight polls.
The chick is just screaming out "Take Me Danny Boy"
That is not surprising. Harkin and Chevez are peas in a pod.
They both have the same goals for their respective Countries.
Chevez has been able to attain his goal and Harkin, along with the other Democrats have not attained his yet.
How is Danny these days?
"Let's Roll!!"
Their honor is the only thing they seem to be willing to sell cheap.
Harkin is such a piece of work. Thousands and thousands of Iranians are still supportive of this country but that isn't reported because Imadamnnutjob controls the press. Moreover, Harken has conveniently forgotten that 24 hrs after 9/11 his buddy Chavez said the whole thing was a Bush plot.

He obviously didn't get or read the DNC talking points memo.
I heard that he shuttled planes over the Pacific until a NV Mig-19 shot up his fuselage with 23mm canon fire. He was then given the Venezualan Medal of Questionable Honor with poison ivy clusters.
It later turned out that it was not a Mig but a Segull that crapped on Harkin's windscreen. Harkins refused to return the medal, wanting to keep it on display with the one's he earned during the Spanish-American War.
"Somebody should kick Harkin's ass."
We're finding out who are enemies within are.
"Somebody should kick Harkin's ass."
Ok, I am highly qualified for this line of work and want the job. When can I start?
Unbelivable.
Wonder if this is a hoax.
No, just make him watch the videos of Muslims from Gaza to Indonesia celebrating in the streets on 9/11. And then ask him to go on television in prime time and publicly square his statement with the video reality.
Deep down, we all know that the only difference between the likes of Pelosi and Chavez is the accent.
