Harkin defends Venezuelan President's U-N speech against Bush

by Darwin Danielson

Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, a democrat, today defended Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's United Nations speech in which Chavez called President George Bush the devil. Harkin said the comments were "incendiary", then went on to say, "Let me put it this way, I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies." Harkin continued what has been frequent criticism of the president's foreign policy.

Harkin says Bush came to office saying he wanted a new humility in foreign policy in reaching out to other countries, but Harkin says Bush's actual policy has been heavy handed. Harkin says the anger against Bush is generated from the Iraq war, which Harkin says was "unnecessary."

Harkin says, "We tend to forget that a few days after 9-1-1 thousands, thousands of Iranians marched in a candlelight procession in Teheran in support of the United States. Every Muslim country was basically on our side. Just think, in five years, President Bush has squandered all that." Harkin says the U.S. has put billions of dollars into the Iraq war, when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.

Tom Harkin didn't kill 47 Viet Cong with his bare hands in the jungles of 'Nam so Hugo Chavez could be criticized for calling George Bush the devil.

I can understand the frustration, ah, and the anger of certain people around the world because of George Bush's policies.

And the anger of Chavez is due to exactly which of those policies Tom?

Al Franken is on the "Tucker" program right now, saying it was wrong for Chavez to do what he did.

Harkin is a punk.

"Somebody should kick Harkin's ass."

The question would be just where were one to begin, since Harking is ALL ASS.

I hope that someone on the RNC takes these comments by Harkin and put them in an ad.

Many Iranians DID hold candlelight vigils...until they were beaten away by Iranian guards.

Not exactly a glowing statement for the Iranian gov't.

The RATS are having to pull in their second string to speak up for Chavez. Neal Cavuto is interviewing this joker,Charles Barron (D), New York City Councilman----who says that Chavez is a great humanitarian for heating Harlem.

He said "You don't like it, then have BUSH come in and heat up Harlem".

He also complained that Bush hadn't rebuilt all of the homes in New Orleans yet either.

when it could be helping poor countries with things like clean water, medical aid and education.

We have been doing that for decades in countries like Venezuela, only to have them turn on us. That true point never gets mentioned or defended.

Oh.

Excuse me while I swoon.

Harkin, and all Liberals, are just SEW much more understanding and wise than you or I. They are SEW empathetic (or do I mean pathetic, let me check my notes here .... no, it's "empathetic", I guess that's like pathetic only more so.)

The self-aggrandizing traitor will actually GAIN support from the left for this. He underSTANDS why other people try to kill us and destroy our nation. His understanding is so profound that he can't actually countenance any course of action which might effectively protect us.

I think I'm going to swoon again ... or puke, either one.
