Channel 4 is to broadcast a documentary showing a human corpse being hung on a cross to depict Christ's suffering.
Anatomist Gunther von Hagens will use a real body to show how people died when crucified in the 90-minute film.
And swabbing Jesus' wrists and ankles with alcohol before driving in the spikes just killed the scene's momentum.
Did he show Madonna how to hang appropriately?
You might want to ask the moderator to correct your misspelling of crucifixion.
The word comes from the roots cruci, meaning "cross." and fix, meaning "to attach."
It's a common misspelling, but the word "fiction" means something untrue, so the misspelling is kind of ugly. It's often used by those who disbelieve in the crucifixion of Jesus.
Great, now we'll see it as a new form of exploitative art, with corpses popping up in the toitiest of Manhatten galleries.

I'm with you. I didn't watch that one either and won't be watching this one.
.
Thank you. Correxion made.
No problem.
Gunther von Hagens has created an exhibit consisting of works that include a man seated at a chess board, his brain exposed; a woman whose pregnant belly is peeled back to reveal an 8-month fetus curled inside; a skinned man astride a horse, holding his brain in his right hand, the horse's in his left; a winged man whose flesh is splayed open wearing a fedora; a man stretched four times his normal height riding a ten foot stage-prop bicycle; a soccer player holding his insides aloft; along with multiple plastinated fetuses.
Von Hagens' "Bodyworks" exhibit is not representational art -- the usual paintings or sculptures or even photographs -- but actual human bodies or body parts from 200 dead men, women and children preserved, dissected, mutilated and put on display to entertain.
You are quite right.
The bible says that Christ was no longer able to be recognized as human by the time it was over.
As horrible as it looked in the movie, Mel admitted in an interview to "pulling it back a bit" for the sake of his audience.
Paging Joseph Mengele...is there a Dr. Mengele in the house?
"Step right up, for the price of one thin Hamilton..."
"SEE a man crucified before your eyes..."
Why doesn't he go whole hog so to speak? Why doesn't he bring this full circle and cut up bodies to show the horrors of Nazi medical experiments?
He could try to persuade Holocause museums to take his show the way he persuaded "science" museums to host his art show.
Yeah, I guess so. I went into a small museum at the medical school where I work and some of the specimens were plastinated. I have to admit it is far superior to fixing in formalin -- light years superior. I also assisted on dozens of autopsies when I was young, so I'm not the least bit squeamish, but I didn't go to the body worlds show. I felt like it would be fine if it was really for students to learn, but that it was actually a macabre display, like you say.
there's no accounting for taste. I haven't seen TPOTC and have no desire to see it.
I did like the fact in the Passion that they both tied and nailed. Seems like they would have to do that. Nails alone would rip out, and rope alone would be possible to slip out.
Did you know he got hit by lightning up there?
I think he's dying to have a body on a cross in his exhibit and this is how he's going to make it.
