President Bush and Sen. John McCain have reached an agreement on legislation covering tribunals for enemy combatant suspects, NBC News reported Thursday.
Details on the deal were not immediately available.
The compromise comes amid a stalemate that has divided the House and Senate on the treatment of detainees. The two sides remained at odds this week over how to adhere to the 1949 Geneva Conventions and simultaneously give the CIA wide leeway to conduct interrogations.

Not yet.
I turned on the House a about an hour ago...and Rep. Steve King from Iowa had a "mini-fence" beside him...with a concrete wall, and wire spriraled on top.
He said it is an example of the fence that he has been pushing for for 3 years...and now it is about to happen...he was very happy.
Thanks
I KNOW..I was just going to post that the Able Danger news takes a couple of points off our side.
All I heard was a news blurb on ABC News that said that the Pentagon says that contrary to the story that a group known as Able Danger had enough knowledge of some of the 9/11 hijackers before 9/11...that is possibly could have been avoided in WRONG...
I didn't hear them deny that there never was an Able Danger group...AND, I don't think any of them said for a FACT that 9/11 could have been avoided...just that the "wall possibly" kept the intelligence agencies from being able to compare notes enough to be able to "connect the dots".
Do you remember more than that?>
I just haven't heard or read anything more about the news on Able Danger.
I phoned the White House during the first year of the administration pushing for tighter immigration controls... I can't even recall the reason I was so energized - something about some illegals coming over from Haiti in a boat maybe? added to the omnipresent Mexico illegals - anyway, I said to the very nice aide that this (illegal immigration) will be the deciding issue in the future.
Not a very strong response, but very polite listening and "head nodding"...
Nice to see that this is finally coming to fruition.
I heard the same report - there is no thread on it?
I knew we would never get an honest investigation of it, and they released it now to try and hurt Weldon's re-election.
Wow, that's confidence.
I wish you could somehow capture how Lindsay was going UP on his tippy toes and then DOWN on his tippy toes, and the UP on his tippy toes and then DOWN, during this presser. It was priceless.
LOL...

Thanks for the photo.
Now I'm confident who won this battle, even without all details.
I remember the sell out on the Judges. I remember the nauseating preening by some of those pictured in this very photo. None of that preening evident here.
Johnny's Mac's clowns lost. America won.
I just pinged you to a thread about it that JUST popped up here on FR.
Off of 'whose' side, sleuth? You certainly been looking for things to take off points, I've noticed.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
I'm sure you don't.
I also don't know why you feel like you have to pick a fight with me....
I said nothing WRONG...but, if your panties are in a wad for some reason, that is your problem not mine.
Did you think people can't look at your posting history?
Gee no response.
I have nothing to be ashamed of in my posting history ...but, if you are so intent on picking a fight..then search away.
I have no idea why my posting history would be of any interest to you..as far as I know I haven't posted to you today.
I really pity you that you have no life...and have to play stupid games.
I'm curious.
