DATELINE New York:
The Democratic Party today named Venezuela Dictator an honorary member of the party and designated September 21 as "Hugo Chavez Day".
Howard Dean, speaking before a crowd of hundreds of cheering members of the Democratic Underground, bestowed the rare honor on Chavez, stating: "We find it simply incredible, and wonderful, that a foreign dictator and a like-minded socialist could articulate the position of our party with so much more skill than even me, Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi. Usually it takes years for one to develope the ablity to rant in the manner so elequently displayed by President Chavez during his speach before the U.N. yesterday."
Dean went on to state that "we have been telling the American people the same thing about Bush for years. "Who was the party that declared Bush "selected and not elected"? -- the Democrats. Which party has called Bush a liar for six straight years? -- the Democrats. Which party has suggested that Bush planned the 911 attacks on the World Trade Center Towers? -- The Democrats."
Chavez, clearly moved by Deans' comments, pledged to do whatever he could to support the party, including donating free gasoline and fake IDs to all illegal immigrants on election day.
"Heck, we might just have found our new candidate for '08", gushed Dean.
Anyone have a phone number for Dean?
How many times does Chavez get to vote?
This is a joke right? They can't be that stupid.
It is fiction
Yes -- a joke, but so true!!
Hundreds????
Even the URL is "broken".
Some of our more savy photoshoppers need to put together a Chavez/Clinton '08 bumber sticker.
All he's gotta do is pay his $5 and he can be a card carrying member of the Democratic Party. I wonder if there is any way to check to see if he's done so.
It's sad that I had to ask. LOL
I was wondering the same thing until they mentioned, "hundreds of cheering members of the Democratic Underground...."
DU doesn't have that many members and those it does have rarely leave the house or cheer anything.
I believe it! Joke or no joke.
Truth. They all have the same talking points.
Hey! That was my idea ; )
"This is a joke right? They can't be that stupid."
You realize of course that the second point doesn't follow from the first?
Great minds think alike. :)
Suprisingly Charlie Rangel blasted Chavez, and Nancy Pelosi called him a thug. I wonder if this didnt flip a switch in some of their minds. Probably not, but I would like to show them support for this.
Wonder for what office he will be running? The pathetic part is that he might not be any worse than some now in office.
