Thank you again and again jveritas, you are the man.
The only thing that pisses me off is that the "powers that be" pay these docs no mind.
You should be on the WH payroll and brought out by Tony Snow to meet and talk to the press.

He always fell back on his Arab "brethen" to unite and destroy America. It's no surprise they will kill each other just as easily but they are united against us and share the same ruthless bloodthirst and fascism.

So, an tyrannical Arab government gets 500 imams to write up a fatwa. A fatwa that will serve as a weapon against the enemies of said government, should the U.S. attack.

So, aside from this being a rather transparent way for a secular government to gain support by whipping up the emotions of it's more religious citizens, what's the big deal? All this shows is that Saddam's government was willing to exploit it's people by pushing their buttons. That's not exactly news.

So it is OK for Saddam “secular” regime as you are calling him, to endorse hundreds of sheikhs and scholars to issue a FATWA for JIHAD against the US but still convince yourself that Saddam was secular!

Great work! I doubt it will even make page 12 on the NYTs, but the truth is out there and the left is trying to bury it.

Sometimes these get posted at DU. Predictably, they end up calling you names. But that is the level of maturity over there.

An "intensely secular" regime whose leader had a copy of the Koran written out in his own blood.

Just how much more evidence that Saddam Hussein was complicit in terrorist acts needs to be exposed ?

One has to be either niave or just obscenely biased to not believe that an organization as large, pervasive and well funded as Al-Qaida existed in the mideast without at least the tacit approval of the leaders of Iraq, Iran, Syria etc.

Exactly correct. Also it is impossible for AL Qaeda to establish such strong presence in Iraq after the US invasion. Al Qaeda could not have possibly established this huge network in Iraq if they were not allowed to do so by Saddam long before the war started.

More good work my FRiend. Just shows the Butcher was only secular until he thought the religious fanatics could help his evil intentions.
