Ah du'h! Amazing anyone in the noise machine finally caught on.

Note to dream on McCainiancs cheeleaders. Conservatives, not these mythical "Admirers", nominate the 2008 Republican Canidate. For trying to backstab the President and hand control of the Congress over to the Dems this year, McCain and the other RINO stoodtes are politically dead in Republican circles.

...the high-profile battle could burnish the Arizonan's credentials among admirers...

That and everything else McCain does to prove he's out of touch with reality and Republican voters.

I have never really trusted McCain. He has been a *VIP* for way too long to understand that our elected representatives - serve the people, not themselves.

Top 5 Reasons why McCain would never win:

- Too soft on the GWOT

- Pro Shamnesty

- Too old

- Too moderate

- Too self-serving

(donning tinfoil hat) I've heard some speculation amongst dentist friends that it looks like McCain might perhaps have had more surgery. Total speculation - no evidence, but if he's had a recurrence, it's possible he knows 2008 isn't an option under any circumstances. Perhaps this is his final finger to Bush and all Republicans who didn't bow down to him previously.

If we assume McCain is NOT stupid, then he already knows this.

Which means his actual strategy is NOT what it seems on the surface.

So... Does McCain intend to run in the Republican primaries, lose, and then join a "National Unity Ticket" with the Dem nominee? Hillary, maybe?

Maybe with special authority given to the VP, making it closer to a dual Presidency?

Could it be?...

My, my.
2008 is a (in political terms) looooooooong way away.
Hell, 3 months is a looooong time in political terms.

The future will take care of itself in due time.
What is to gain by stirring up crap about this right now?

I think you got that right. McCain is dead in the water, most apt being he is former navy. I am still not giving up on George Allen. People here point out his "gaffes" but they should remember he is under constant attack by the Washington ComPost. President Bush survived the attacks the media put on him when he ran - the Clymer remark, the DWI, the tape showing him making fun of the woman executed in Texas, the world leader pop quiz. Some people on FR do not think highly of George Allen but given the attention he gets by the ComPost and other media outlets, obviously someone is worried about him.

This very definitely is going to put a chilling effect on the tremendous strides he has made in the conservative evangelical community,"

He's been dead in the water for several years now and has only been kept afloat by the MSM who keeps bailing out the water.......

Bring on the primaries, I can't wait for this jackass to be served his comeuppance.............Maybe then he will go away.

All he has to do is change to Democrat. McLame's beliefs are so close to the Dims that no one would notice the difference.
