>>McCain was a POW and John Kerry wore a uniform. <<
Murtha wore a uniform too. But you'll be hard pressed to find a bigger traitor to his country.
And he's a maverick!
American lives.
"I just don't see Frist, Huccabee, Pataki, Allen, and Romney as president."
Sen Sessions, R, AL has an excellent conservative record. Not sure how far he wants to push his political aspirations though.
I think some people are working under the assumption that they are suspected terrorists. I've heard the Government isn't always right.
Good job Chuckles,
Each one you mentioned seems to have issues in different areas of the country or they are generally lightweights to begin with with visions of granduer. Sort of like JOe Biden.
John McCain was a POW.

That was because he was such a poor pilot. How many other planes did he destroy?
When he became a POW he also became a traitor when he gave the cong all the information they wanted. That is the reason he received preferential treatment in the POW camp, and became the only POW I know of who actually gained weight as a POW.
Al Qaeda is lawless; I question whether it is even a "power" as the Conventions use the term. And anyone who proposes that al Qaeda be treated as if it were not lawless is himself lawless. And that includes not only McCain, Graham et al, but five ninths of the Supreme Court of the United States. BTW anyone who blythely speaks of using "special forces" should recognize that undercover work - though universal among nations - is in violation of the Geneva Conventions. And, Lindsey Graham to the contrary notwithstanding, a special forces person caught in Iran - far from arousing a furious outcry in America - would not even be acknowledged by the US.
Can you cite any sources regarding McCain's piloting skills and his behavior as a POW?
It is said that McCain received preferential treatment because of his father's rank in the US Navy.

Lt. Cmdr. John S. McCain III, son of retired Adm. John S. McCain Jr., former commander-in-chief Pacific.

Sounds like a Katie Couric citation. Your source says nothing about preferential treatment or his piloting skills. I'll join you in slamming McCain politically for his rino actions, but you have no evidence of what you accuse him of during Vietnam.
I gave proof of who his father is and what his rank was in the US Navy as reported in the Stars and Stripes.

On October 27, 1967, four days after being shot down, McCain called for a North Vietnamese guard. He told the officer, "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." -U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973 article written by former POW John McCain
Eventually, I gave them my ship's name and squadron number, and confirmed that my target had been the power plant." Page 193-194, Faith of My Fathers by John McCain
John Sidney McCain III is known among many of his Vietnam flight buddies as "Ace" McCain. This title has not been bestowed upon McCain because he destroyed five enemy aircraft. On the contrary: It was five on our side -- in fact, five of his own. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1571/is_11_16/ai_61361646
If you need more I can send them, it is just that they are at home.
Send what you want. McCain was a brave naval aviator. Anyone who flys off a carrier is. Aircraft are lost in war. Had he lost any due to incompetence he would have lost his wings. He broke like everyone else under extreme torture. He was not a traitor. Why the venom against a man who risked all during war?
