The lead singer spoke to the Vancouver Sun recently, saying, "but if you live in Lubbock, Texas, where I'm from -- you just have one paper and one radio station and unless you're savvy on the Internet, that's it for you. If Bush said get a gun and kill an Arab, they would do that."

It's a comment that isn't sitting well with some Lubbockites.

If Abadamanajinadab and his bunch do anything outrageous to this country that throws it into anarchy and back to square one, I am afraid that the small town Americans will no longer be restrained by the PCers. Sadly, even innocent burkas and head rags will have to vamoose back to their Muslim havens of origin with no ceremony. . and that's my opinion.

It will be interesting to see if Tom can recover. Tom is cute (I guess) but that draw diminishes for men after about 35. Older men need to move from cute to sexy/distinguished to keep that whole angle going. I'm not clear that Tom is transitioning well. Plus, from a purely pragmatic point of view, I'm not sure that hooking up with Katie Holmes was a good strategy because she is SO much younger than he which could alienate his natural fan base. But we'll see.

You are completely correct about the Bottom Line. They could have recovered from the Bush bashing incident. They will not recover from this.

Lubbock has also produced Joe Ely, Buth Hancock, and Jimmy Dale Gilmore. What amazes me about "artists" that crap in their nests is the fact that the entertainment world is full of very talented people where fame is as much a matter of luck and breaks than anything else. I heard an yet unhearled group, The Lovell Sisters, last Saturday night whose performance (and original music) blows the Chicks away. Don't the Ditzy Chicks realize that talent much better than their own is hungry..and right on their arses?

Count me in. I was raised with the same mentality as Bush. Texans don't take no sh*t. We prefer to shoot first and ask questions later, that is if you can. Must be something in the water down there. Since I refuse to live in another country if Shillary gets elected, I will just move back to Texas. It's like a whole different world down there anyway.
