[snip]

The lead singer spoke to the Vancouver Sun recently, saying, "but if you live in Lubbock, Texas, where I'm from -- you just have one paper and one radio station and unless you're savvy on the Internet, that's it for you. If Bush said get a gun and kill an Arab, they would do that."

It's a comment that isn't sitting well with some Lubbockites.

Well since G. Bush grew up in the area, I am sure that he would know just what to call people from Lubbock.

Reminds me of something Moby said shortly after the 2004 presidential election.

It was something along the lines of "We've got to face it: we live in a red country and always will. So have dinner with friends and try to accept it."

IOW, he is one of the few moonbats who is willing to admit they are in the minority and their viewpoint is inconsistent with that of mainstream Americans'.

If all the citizens of the city of Lubbock were like Ms Maines, they would have to be called Lubbotamites.

You're right. It's just hard to watch someone behave so suicidally.

I worked with a large contingent from there, and we used the term "Lubbockian".

In general, they're not folks you want to tick off.

Ho hum. Does anyone really care what this ditz says? Nothing here, let's move on to important news. Like the latest "lady owns 60 cats in 1 bedroom apt." story.

Surely there is an 8 year old that helped an old lady across the street. How about a lonely dog down at the shelter?

One paper and one radio station? hmmmm, me thinks their radios can pick up signals over 5 miles away and their stores carry multiple newspapers.
