Latest Attack From Dixie Chicks' Lead Singer Hits Home

[snip]

The lead singer spoke to the Vancouver Sun recently, saying, "but if you live in Lubbock, Texas, where I'm from -- you just have one paper and one radio station and unless you're savvy on the Internet, that's it for you. If Bush said get a gun and kill an Arab, they would do that."

It's a comment that isn't sitting well with some Lubbockites.

She's already vocally dissed country music.

She said they don't need country music or its fans.

She has said they're too good to--quote---be "stuck in a 5-disc changer with Reba and Toby."

There's more.

You mean, insulting her audience isn't the only crazy self defeating behavior? There are others?

Liberals never tire of slandering their neighbors. Disturbing the peace is their past time. Making false statements about their fellow Americans is their cheap way to fame with the "smart set." Too bad they don't also realize that most of the people in their home town are fine, decent people who are just as clever as anyone else. If they really needed help, the people in their part of Texas would be there for them. I don't think the crowd they're currying favor with by parroting inane anti-American crackpot theories to would be there.

That's the thing. The Bush comment could have been minor. But insulting their own fans REPEATEDLY was simply astonishing.

Urban lefties will hang with them for awhile, but once the politics disappear, she will be discarded along with Cindy Sheehan and Markos whathisname.

I would never, ever listen to music I didn't like just because the performers had the same politics I do.

"Lubbock has a musical history you can never tarnish. (Buddy Holly)."

Mac Davis, too. He may not be a great as Holly, but he is pretty good.

Maybe this is a ploy by Natalie to publicize the cover she plans on doing with one of Mac Davis's songs -- you know -- Happiness is Lubbock Texas in the Rear View Mirror. She's gonna ditch the last verse, though, and replace it with one about Tehran coming nearer and nearer. That's her idea of God's Country -- not the USA.
