He said his grandfather's incarceration by the Germans had a profound effect on his mother; that because it was a painful memory, it was almost never discussed. "Some may find it odd that I have not probed deeply into the details of my family history, but it's a fact," Allen said in his statement. Speaking with The Times-Dispatch, Allen said the disclosure is "just an interesting nuance to my background." He added, "I still had a ham sandwich for lunch. And my mother made great pork chops."

I am starting to become a fan of his again.

When I heard this idiotic attack on Allen this morning by the media/lib-weenie/Democrap cohorts, I rushed right home and sent a $100 to the Allen for Senate campaign.

Although I cant afford to send $ to all Repubs or conservatives who ask, I get furious when the lib reporters so willingly go after GOP candidates and ignore the Democratic mistakes.

I will send more $ to conservatives the harder the media-slime tries to elect their pet candidates.

With pro-Israel sentiment very strong in this country, if I were Allen and I had Jewish heritage, I would play into it not distance from it.

There is no "fear" that Allen would get the nomination except from those who want the GOP to win. He ain't ready for Prime Time it has become painfully obvious even to those of us who like the guy like me.

I'll take your word for it. Not being a Virginian, I haven't seen too much from him. A lot of conservatives do a lot of whining over the people who are polling in the top spots now and I'd hope for some way to make them happy with a nominee too.

Although the claim to be the biggest is probably more of a self-promotional thing. He certainly gets a lot of hits at his site, and has been cited in news articles.

Yesterday, he posted that Allen's letter proved that his mother was a "born jew", and questioned why Allen didn't just say "yes, my mother is a jew".

This article explains that -- because Allen doesn't KNOW his mother is a jew, and in fact she says shes a christian.
