He said his grandfather's incarceration by the Germans had a profound effect on his mother; that because it was a painful memory, it was almost never discussed. "Some may find it odd that I have not probed deeply into the details of my family history, but it's a fact," Allen said in his statement. Speaking with The Times-Dispatch, Allen said the disclosure is "just an interesting nuance to my background." He added, "I still had a ham sandwich for lunch. And my mother made great pork chops."

I'll give you that Rudy would be great at fighting the WOT.
But thats where his pluses end.
I despised how Clinton treated the women in his life, Rudy is no better.
He should have never said Bush should meet with her. There was no secret as to her motives or to her prior meeting with Bush at least on FR there wasn't. It was obvious to anyone who knows the Left what the story was with Cindy.
Hmmm. An undiscovered governor, eh? Well, Ammericans do like the unknown. That way they can put all their hopes and dreams into that person and imagine them to be just like them. I'm convinced that's why people like Slick and Jimmah got elected. Republicans, though usually don't have too much success that way. Bush was pretty well known because of his father. Bush's father was well known as the VP. Reagan ran many times before winning the nomination as did Richard Nixon. Ford was an aberation. Before that? Goldwater, who lost and Ike who was very well known. I hope you're not disappointed and don't go away angry.
Rudy has not raped anyone nor harassed anyone nor used anyone young enough to be his daughter. Clinton's follies were bad enough in themselves but their biggest danger came from the National Security implications.
All the other issues added together do not outweigh the War on Terror. That is THE issue which makes most of the others irrelevent since they would not exist should the Terrorists get a Nuclear weapon.
You should have given justshutupandtakeit the same reply you gave panda.
Partisans of other Republican 2008 nominees are as frightened of Allen as Dems.
I'm sure we'll have a good conservative nominee in 2008, which is two years away...
I'm sure we'll have a lot of good candidates who if not the nominee will make good cabinet officers as well. I worry about the unknown, like another huge terrorist attack. The media will be ready to blame Republicans. Katrina was just a dry (wet) run of what they have in store. A confused and frightened public is a dangerous thing.
And if I thought that Rudy was the only guy running who was capable of fighting the WOT, he'd have my vote.
Did you miss the point about the fact that she was unidentified when he was asked the question?
At the very worst, it was poor interview prep and bad face recognition.
Someone needs to bring back the facts about when this exact thing happened to Madeleine Albright.
We're seeing another trend: Republicans/conservatives who support another candidate.
Yeah, that's another reason I can't take Allen seriously. He's lacking of judgement. Why he was willing to meet that moonbat is beyond me.
And very much a media creation.
There is no foot-in-mouth disease. What was he supposed to have said that would meet with the strict guidelines of bigoted, hypocritical liberals?
I understand how he feels. I did not discover my Jewish roots until about 10 years ago. They were all afraid to talk about them. I discovered it accidentally and had to do much prying to get the facts.
Perfectly legit when you're talking about 2008.
But we're not. This is 2006 and no real Republican wants Jim Webb to win and be in there to do the bidding of Kennedy-Kerry-Clinton and company.
I don't give a rats clymer who people are supporting for 2008.
THIS is about 2006.
And the trolls have come out of the woodwork.
I remain amazed that I have to fight them as visciously here on FreeRepublic as I do in the Virginia blogosphere.
Here we go with the station bio on Peggy Fox:

Oh, it also helpfully includes a "send Peggy email" button.
Are you a Dem operative??
Yes, Allen in 2008.
